U.S. streets could soon be overrun with cats if communities fail to get a handle on growing feline populations, a veterinary medicine researcher says.

Who herds cats?
The perception is that the government provides funding for the control of cats, but "by and large, that is not the case in Ohio," Lord said. "Government has tended to not want to be involved with cats. And I don't know if they can avoid it anymore."

On the other hand, this could turn into a Viking Kitties thread and end up in Chat.
Not a problem around here.
Two many owls, coyotes and speeding cars.
Elswhere ... hey...roof rabbit for din din baby
Our neighborhood has roaming cats and the solution - coyotes. They eat cats. They’re also keeping down our deer and rabbit population. Haven’t attacked any children. Yet.
If a cat lives in an industrial park and has regular contact with us humans is it a feral cat?
I’ll say it again. If you’re having a feline population explosion, it’s because you have a lot of rats or mice or other things that cats eat.
If you remove the cats and don’t deal with *why* there are so many cats, your problems just got a LOT worse. See: Europe/Black Plague.
“Havent attacked any children. “
Do you mean the deer or the rabbits?
No, silly. I mean the coyotes.
If they can bring down a fawn or small doe (we’ve heard them doing that about midnight on two occasions) then small children are potential prey.
ONLY OBAMA CAN SAVE US FROM BEING OVERRUN BY CATS.
I expect that’s how the media will run with the story.
Is this what the Democrats are calling themselves now, "Feral Cats"? I'll just keep referring to them as a bunch of pussies, thank you very much.
There’s no need for hand-wringing.
Feral kitties have to be terminated.
This is gonna be a fun thread- I can feel it!
Low-report "Cat Blasters" can fix the problem.

You can argue with the felophiles - but it’s useless.
Their overlords don’t allow them to have rational thought.
My neighborhood has roaming cats, at least one feral cat, and coyotes, and raccons. The coyotes around here are known to eat dogs, but we still have many cats. We also have the big great northern hoot owls, also called tiger owls- they eat rabbit, squirrel, and red-tailed hawks.
The good news is at least one restaurant won’t be affected by rising food prices.
