Sometime, within the next twelve to eighteen months, the average circulation of the weekday edition of the New York Times will drop below one million.
This event marks the continuing decline in the fortunes of what had been the U.S. newspaper of record as the New York Times' average circulation has been well above this level for decades.
"Hey, Pinch happens."

Doesn’t hurt my feelings! The NYT is the propaganda arm of the Democrat party, and its “news stories” are more editorial opinion than fact. I hope it goes bankrupt.
It’s no secret that the Sulzberger family want to drive the stock price of the NYT into the toilet, so they can buy back the corporation at a fraction of its value and privatize it.
They can do this because they have a stock arrangement that gives them total control over the companies operations. There is nothing their common stockholders can do, either. Federal courts have ruled that the Sulzbergers can do anything they want, because of the way their stock is set up.
Of course, their common stockholders now realize that they are getting totally shafted in the deal, but they are helpless. The only reason to own stock in the NYT right now is either stubbornness, fear of taking a huge loss, or hoping that heaven will intercede to strike the entire Sulzberger family down with a lightening bolt.
To throw salt in their wounds, the Sulzbergers have even built a new building for their new private company, so that when they own it all, they think they can build up the NYT to its former glory.
However, in the greatest irony of them all, the Sulzbergers may have just succeeded in gaining total ownership of the Titanic, just before its maiden voyage.
My wife’s ready to call it quits with the home delivery. For the past few weeks, it’s been arriving after she leaves in the morning. Nothing for the morning commute and she doesn’t really have the time to read it in the evening until almost bedtime.
Ain't gonna happen, though. RIP, Old Grey Lady.
It’s almost time to return Times Square to it’s original name, Longacre Square. The NY Slimes is in a death spiral.
Boo hoo.
Thats the reason you're cancelling? Because it doesn't "arrive on time"? So then you enjoy the lies and drivel and treason it commits against our country, and you would happily continue to pay for it, if only it arrived earlier. Pathetic!
That’s the reason she’s cancelling. I don’t read it, except, maybe for opposition research, and William Safire’s “On Language” column. Occasionally the Science section on Tuesday when I see it.
what had been the U.S. newspaper of record...is now a partisan shill sheet, and has been for quite some time. Thanks george76.
Perhaps one small factor. Also the internet is so much quicker for news. A lot of people don't have as much time to read newspapers. I suspect some in a tight economy make budget 'Pinches' eeheheheh... newspapers and magazines go by-by.
The Sulzbergers are the main reason that the flagship, “New York Turd” is headed for the bottom of the lamestream toilet. I hope that they are dumb enough to take it private and choke to death on its final demise.
have they considered nytimes LatinO !
might help.
The NYT is not the newspaper of the Democratic Party. The
Democratic Party of the NYT. Both halves of this equation can’t imagine how far they have drifted from common American viewpoints.
Oops! Bad keyboard! Bad! Bad!
The NYT is not the newspaper of the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party is the political arm of the New York Times. Both halves of this duo have no idea how far they have drifted from common American viewpoints.
Better that they print it on perforated rolls of tissue..
You should consider grabbing the two pics in the link, and then, when you post stuff on the MSM, give the vultures an occasional day off..
