Obama Camp Chides Host Who Called McCain a ‘Warmonger’

Barack Obama’s campaign distanced itself Saturday from a liberal talk show host who called John McCain a “warmonger” while introducing the Illinois senator at a North Dakota campaign stop the night before, after the McCain campaign called on Obama to denounce the comment.

Local talk show host Ed Schultz used the term to describe the Arizona senator while warming up the crowd in Grand Forks, N.D., before Obama’s arrival at the state’s Democratic convention.

....

On Friday, however, Obama thanked Schultz and called him the “voice of progressive radio.”

“Sen. Obama has repeatedly said that words matter, they do, and for him to stand on stage and thank someone who just minutes before used hate-filled and inflammatory language to describe John McCain, someone who has served his nation in and out of uniform for over 30 years, shows Obama’s true colors, liberal Chicago-style politics as usual,” McCain campaign spokesman Jeff Sadosky said
It appears McCain's campaign is paying attention and quick to respond on this one.

McCain seems to be quick to respond against most allegations against him.
Wow, I actually found one thing I like about McCain, his service to our
nation is a given, and I thank him for it.

Time to break out the “surrender monkey” moniker and see how it resonates. Maybe Michael Savage. Then, McCain says, “MIchael Savage is the voice of conservative America”. Wonder how they’d like it.

I'd pop lots of popcorn for that.

It’s the usual crap we get from Obama. It’s just like what he did with Rev. Wright: “He said some bad stuff but he’s just like everybody else, including every pastor in the country and typical white folks.”

The thing is, obama’s right on this one: somebody who thinks you’re a warmonger if you want to fight terrorists is indeed the voice of “progressive” America.

We just have to hope there are still enough people who love our country to repudiate that sentiment one more time (and then again, and again and again, thereafter). My money is on "yes, we can" repudiate that communist idea, for a long time to come.

Here's the thing -- the left will have to have many a conference in the post-mortem to try and figure out "what went wrong". My money is on them getting it wrong, one more time. But, it will also portend many deep and significant changes in their rhetoric.

Just heard Ed's interview of Bill Press, as they discussed his book "The End of Conservatism."

As silly as these two leg-warmer wearing fellows are, Press' book makes a very interesting point (apparently, ain't read it and won't until it hits yard sales). The point being that "Conservatives have killed conservatism" by straying away ... far away ... from conservative values whenever they have the chance to govern. Among other things, this has caused the present economic calamity that threatens to drive them from office. Aparently Ed and Bill expect better things from Conservatives!!!

Frankly, this failure to govern wisely when given the chance has driven a wedge between me and the GOP. I have to assume I am not alone. Of course, I am a party man, and would never vote for any Democrat. But, as I look around, there are probably not enough of us to carry the election!

The other thing Ed has done is to facilitate the paradigm shift away from "Liberal," to "Progressive." This, IMHO, is very serious. It is going to attract voters who wouldn't dream of supporting a "Liberal," back into the arms of the Democrat Party. We are in danger of losing (again) the "Reagan Democrats," or the "Eisenhower Democrats," In other words, Ed and the gang are going to (re) claim patriotism for the Left. Why not? ... After all, it is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

The guy is hard to take, but he is laying out the plan the Left has developed to marginalize the Republican Party. Us? We got no plan. IMHO, the GOP loses the big one ... there ain't gonna be no more GOP.

McCain is not tough enough to do as you suggest. He’d sooner throw Savage under the BS Express and spin the wheels as the MSM cheers.

Liberals call themselves Progressives for propaganda purposes; this is nothing new. All you have to ask is, “What do you want to progress to?” Then you’ll here things like “Universal Heath Care”, “Kyoto Protocol”, “Windfall Profit Taxes on Big Oil”, etc. etc., etc. They can call themselves whatever they want, but they are still victimhood-pimps, nanny-staters, foreign-policy appeasers, and global-warming kooks. A pedophile could call himself a sexual progressive if he or she wanted to...it’s pure sophistry.

And to think at one time Ed Schultz was a conversative and some 15 years ago or so was considering running for office as a Republican. He was also a sports announcer.

Me, I thought a Progressive was somebody like Fighting Bob LaFollette. I think it's damned clever of these folks to revive and (mis) appropriate the name.

I also think this current "Progressive-ism" is GW Bush's Fault. The guy is a lousy communicator, has made scant use of the "Bully Pulpit" and is leaving us in one hell of mess on the economic domestic front.

In short, leaving the door open for our Left-Wingnuts to walk right in. When Obama puts me, your Grace, and my Mama in a re-education camp, I'll elaborate further.

Ed Schultz. Yes, he’s the one who would soon overtake Limbaugh. How many stations is he on now?

CONVERSATIVE ..... a great new word for a turn-coat!

Sports Announcer..... Just like Olberman! Wow! This must be some sort of new career path. Fail at announcing sports ... become a Progressive Pundit!
