Superintendent's orders to worried dad: Butt out!

The superintendent of a public school that sparked a federal lawsuit by teaching homosexuality to children as young as kindergarten has told another worried parent he can review course material, but he has no right to withdraw his child from class during lessons.

The lawsuit, on which WND has reported extensively, was filed by David Parker, whose child was in a class at Estabrook Elementary in Lexington, Mass.

Parker's strenuous objection to not being notified when lessons concerning homosexuality were presented landed him in jail overnight. His subsequent lawsuit resulted in a court verdict that essentially concludes parents have no rights to control what their children are taught.

The court ruling adopted the arguments submitted by several pro-homosexual organizations that stated they had rights to children in public schools. However, Parker has confirmed for WND the case is being prepared for appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court because of the far-reaching impacts of the ruling.

Unless the case is overturned, Parker told WND, "it now would allow teachers in elementary schools to influence children into any views they wanted to, behind the backs of parents, to a captive audience, and against the will of the parents if need be."

In the latest confrontation, publicized by the traditional values advocates at Mass Resistance, Lexington Supt. Paul Ash told a parent who also wanted to be advised when homosexuality was being taught to children that the school would not cooperate.

Teachers teach the curriculum they are handed because they want to keep their jobs (having financial responsibilies to their own families having much to do with that I would imagine).

This is diversity curriculum created by a liberal administration, so surprise surprise it deals with homosexuality. Parents who do not wish to have this curriculum taught must direct those concerns — in large numbers, as with any issue — to their school committee members.

I live in Central MA and I can tell you right now that this type of curriculum would never make it out of the Education Subcommittee of my District’s school committee. Parents would charge the school committee meetings with outrage.

Mr. Parker needs to lobby the support of fellow parents and address this locally. He went on the attack individually to no good end.

My theory on moonbat involvement in public affairs is that they aren't busy caring for their children or having a life. Thus, they are busy telling other people how to live theirs.

I do agree that conservatives need to get off their duffs, stop handing their children over to the government schools en masse, run for the panels, boards, committees, councils that control water, schools, zoning, municipalities, etc. It's a sacrifice, but it's long past due - a burden of being a free people.

I see the problem now as, if you become involved, you may very well be persecuted -- can't get a building permit, property taxes raised, CPS thrown at you, whatever. Honestly, are we a free people when we could all be criminalized at any minute? (M'am, we'll have to take your children, since you neglected to fasten all 62 points of your carseat, you criminal).

Part of the problem with today's conservative, is that they are barely so -- completely ignorant due to public school education, of history, how government really works, or are an indentured servant to school loans.

I would venture to add that the feminization of men via female-dominated public schools and prolonged adolescence, has led to a cadre of modern men who are all too happy to send their women to defend them on the front lines, earn their living in the workplace, and have the women (foolish enough to buy into the situation) juggle it all.

As for school boards, etc, this is where conservatives can make a real difference if we'd just get more involved.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It would make a difference if the goal was to permanently SHUT DOWN the government schools.

Ok,,,Let's say conservatives get in and change the curriculum. Any government powerful enough to impose conservatism on other people's children is powerful enough to impose Liberal/Marxism on their children!

Yes! Conservatives need to get involved in school issues BUT... The goal should be complete elimination of government schooling.

Government schools are a freedom of conscience and First Amendment nightmare!

For the record, grooming conservatives will not result in a productive result.

If you were paying attention you would know that any person with conservative views who rises to prominence and national reputation will be killed. The left wing media will mount a campaign to destroy him and remove the threat.

As it was years ago, the threat to conservatism and to America is the mainstream media. Until conservatives get off their collective asses and go about destroying the media there will be no change.

Well Administration clearly feels that not teaching this curriculum is a violation of their freedom of conscience. So who’s freedom of conscience prevails here?

He should have told the superintendent that he would like to be notified as well of any religious teachings and issues of global warming, (the holy trinity of securilism). That would hvae put the sup on a real dilemma!

Boy elk, you've nailed it. There are soooo many, I hate to say it this way so please excuse me, “dumb” high school graduates today. They’ve been spoon-fed revised historical pablum for 12 years, can't add without a calculator, and forget about grammar. They rarely can spell accurately and goodness, have a vocabulary reservoir of a few hundred words leading them to the oft heard “huh” when pressed with a question about “which war was fought in 1812”, or “who was buried in Grant's tomb.”

It's a painful time in our country and I'm fearful the the battle has already been lost. How do you put the genie back in the bottle, I don't think you do.

This was a local choice by the school committee and school Administration. It can be easily fixed by voting those school committee members out of their seats.

You're completely missing the point. Who are you trying to kid? Socialists have been using the court system for years to make an end run around existing laws passed by the people. This parent is fighting fire with fire by taking a page right out of the socialist handbook! It's far too simplistic to think this is simply an issue of curriculum. It is the attempted advancement by socialists to control the masses. That control starts with the children and that can't happen unless control is taken from the parents.

This is a frightening assumption of power by Comrade Superintendent. Where are the other parents?

Exactly!

Only one worlview can and will win.

One side will have the government **establishing** their religious, cultural, and political worldview, and the other side will have its most precious religious, cultural, and political values crushed.

This is why government schools must be SHUT DOWN. We must work to privatize universal K-12 education.

You're reading this right Man50. Socialism has always predicated it's success on the children. Socialists have always understood that distracting the adults with a protracted war of idea's bought them time to inculcate the children through government run programs - like public schools.

Quiz - How many personal attributes do you know about you're children's teacher?

1. Do they believe in “inalienable rights”? Do they even know what the term inalienable means?
2. What do they believe about capitalism or free markets?
3. What do they believe about sexual relationships between consenting adults, or amongst young people.
4. What are their political beliefs?

I suspect most know nothing about the people who influence their children 6-10 hours a day.

Please remember, the average 30 something teacher was raised in this current moral relativistic culture and taught at often very left wing universities. Just because they mean well, doesn't make them trustworthy or right; "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

The Trillions used to keep these government schools running should be used to fund the private schools given back to the taxpayers so they can compete with each other and parents can determine where they want their child to attend school.

There, even better. :)

You know if the money goes to private schools, govt will use it as leverage with which to insinuate themselves and before long, they won't be private anymore. How many universities have gone that way? Just give all that tax money back to the taxpayers and let them build their own new private schools, or homeschool.

By the way, homeschooling mom here, in our 6th year. Best decision we ever made.

Personal and true story:

In Arlington Texas, back in the late 80's my young children attended the local public elementary schools. At the time Tarrant County schools district were the second largest in state, so every liberal, socialist, new concept or social experiment was being forced down our throats.

My children were sent home a release form to take a two week health course.

Now, being the right wing extremist religious nut that I am, I asked myself, why in the world would I need to sign off on a health course and a two week one at that?

I said "NO" on the form, but would reconsider if I could review said material.

Well, you would have thought I committed mass murder the way it was responded to

I got three phone calls all assuring me the "health" course were simply about personal hygiene and health choices.

I explained to them since it was a simple personal hygiene and health choices manual, as my children parents, I don't see what all the fuzz was about.

Bottom line is I want to see it or my kids were not taking the course.

The vice principal called me and made an appointment to show me the material.

Basically it was a manual on how to be personally hygienic while preforming homosexual acts.

The materials was pornographic in nature and WAY beyond what I even wanted to know . I'm taking about 4th graders here looking at this stuff

Sitting there shell shocked and embarrassed for the VP, as I could tell he disapproved of it also, but was powerless to stop it, he told me He didn't blame me for not wanted my children exposed to the material.

I asked him how many other parents had asked to review the material.

He said NONE.

The next day I received a phone call from the author of the material who was a flamer, who basically called me every vile and vicious name in the book.

Next day I pulled all my children out of school and we started homeschooling them

Wake up parents, it is your personal responsibility before God and your own conscience, to insure your children are taught what is right.

Personal Responsibility?

Don't be silly, they have their McMansion to pay for and give up their Gucci bags and new Lexus to pay for private school or give up a job so mom can home school.

Come on man, You don't want the neighbors thinking we are poor, do you? Beside I got to save up for that matching "Tat" the women and I are getting

< / sarcasm>
