April ping.
Thanks for the new thread.
I read here often, although I seldom comment.
I appreciate the job all of you are doing here.
Thank you!
Thanks very much, Ian.
Thanks for the ping to post #1498 on the March thread. Very interesting.
Thank you for the new thread.
You’ve put up over 40 threads!
Thanks to ALL for the hard work and continuing input.
THANKS THANKS.
Has anyone researched more . . . the Russian intel org . . . has released info asserting that
The USA has equal forces arrayed currently against Iran as we had at the beginning of the Iraq war . . . and that we will be ready to go at Iran the first half of April . . . that it will remain up to the political leaders as to when the festivities will start.
I think the info is probably largely accurate.
IF SO
I assume the festivities will start against Iran probably after the Beijing Olympics though that would have lots of forces holding in readiness a long time—which they don’t do well without deterioration—so that may not be the case . . . maybe festivities will begin sooner.
Regardless, I DOUBT
MERELY DOUBT
that China would not end up attacking us until after the Beijing Olympics.
However, I have essentally little to no doubt that our going into Iran will lead into China attacking the West coast and Russia the East coast . . . . and that life will never again be he same . . . PERIOD.
And that true peace will not fully, honorably, authentically, constructively reign ‘again’ until Christ touches down on the Mt of Olives. . . . though the Anti-Christ will “wage war with peace” as Scripture says—more or less, evidently, for up to 3.5 years with the world crying PEACE PEACE PEACE AT LAST . . . though it will be a pseudo peace as the tyranny tightens it’s grip.
In any case . . . interesting times we live in . . .
Thank you very much nw.

Basque ETA says killed Spanish councillor in March
Published:
04.01.08, 23:45 / Israel News
The Basque separatist group ETA said on Tuesday it shot dead a former Socialist councillor just before last month’s election, confirming widely held suspicions that the armed group was responsible. In a statement published in the Basque newspaper Gara, ETA said it had killed Isaias Carrasco outside his house in the northern town of Mondragon on March 7, two days before an election won by the incumbent Socialists.
He was shot five times at point-blank range in front of his wife and young daughter. Gara also quoted ETA as saying it also carried out four bombings in the region in the run-up to the poll. (Reuters)

“Next terror attack ‘a matter of time’”
By TOVAH LAZAROFF
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Alexander Galiah, who lost his wife in a terrorist attack at the Rimonim junction six years ago, told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday he knows from personal experience what it means to ease security restrictions for the Palestinians.
Etty Galiah, 48, was shot to death on November 18, 2002 by a Palestinian terrorist who plugged nine bullets into her car as she drove past that junction, near the Palestinian village of Taiba. The roadblock was unmanned as a gesture to the Palestinians.
So Galiah, who never remarried, was concerned to hear on Monday that the roadblock, which had been in use since his wife’s murder, had been dismantled by the army as part of a promise by Israel to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
“It’s worrisome,” said Galiah.
The father of seven has lived in the Orthodox Kochav Hashahar settlement for 28 years.”

The ISOF planned and conducted the mission to capture and arrest the criminals in an abandoned school.
According to recent intelligence information, these criminals planted improvised explosive devices along the roads leading to the school.
They also set up defensive fighting positions around the facility.
The school was a staging point for armed assaults against Iraqi Security Forces as well as a storage facility for illegal weapons, ammunition and explosives.
The ISOF received small arms fire throughout the operation. Both ISOF and U.S. SF returned fire while a Coalition aircraft provided additional requested close-air support. During the operation, 14 armed individuals were killed.

War On Terror: Shockingly, the CIA warns that America is wide open to another 9/11-style terrorist attack from the Afghan-Pakistani border. Is this August 2001 all over again?
n a rare public interview, CIA Director Michael Hayden said al-Qaida’s central command is training a more cunning generation of terrorists in the badlands of northern Pakistan.
They “look Western,” he said, and “wouldn’t attract your attention if they were going through the customs line at (Washington) Dulles (International Airport) with you when you’re coming back from overseas.”
These new recruits, Hayden told NBC’s “Meet the Press,” “would be able to come into this country without attracting the kind of attention that others might.”
In other words, they wouldn’t fit the typical Middle Eastern profile, and their non-Arabic surnames wouldn’t likely show up in any terror watch list. In fact, they might not even need visas if they enter from Europe.
Forget the image of Mohamed Atta and the other 9/11 hijackers. The next al-Qaida-trained terror cell could feature blue-eyed blonds and even women.
Hayden’s warning dovetails with German intelligence. Authorities there reveal that terrorist suspects under surveillance include several Germans who have converted to Islam and recently trained at al-Qaida camps in Pakistan.
At the same time, U.S. officials note al-Qaida’s use of women to carry out suicide attacks in Iraq is an alarming new twist. Women are checked less often by security because of Muslim sensitivities.

DHS Exercises Waiver Authority to Expedite Advancements in Border Security
Release Date: April 1, 2008
For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
Contact: 202-282-8010
All Segments Project Area - Final (PDF, 4 pages - 34 KB)
All Segments Waiver - Signed (PDF, 5 pages - 1.5 MB)
Hidalgo Waiver Project Area - Final (PDF, 1 page - 19 KB)
Hidalgo Fence Waiver - Signed (PDF, 4 pages - 1.2 MB)
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced today its intent to issue two waivers of certain laws to expedite security improvements at the southwest border. Congress gave the Secretary of Homeland Security authority to waive all legal requirements necessary to expeditiously install additional physical barriers and roads at the border to deter illegal activity.
Criminal activity at the border does not stop for endless debate or protracted litigation, said Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. Congress and the American public have been adamant that they want and expect border security. Were serious about delivering it, and these waivers will enable important security projects to keep moving forward. At the same time, we value the need for public input on any potential impact of our border infrastructure plans on the environment and we will continue to solicit it.
One waiver applies to certain environmental and land management laws for various project areas in Calif., Ariz., N.M., and Texas, encompassing roughly 470 total miles. It will facilitate additional pedestrian and vehicle fence construction, towers, sensors, cameras, detection equipment, and roads in the vicinity of the border.
A separate waiver was signed for the levee-border barrier project in Hidalgo County, Texas. This roughly 22-mile project will strengthen flood protection in the area while providing the Border Patrol with important tactical infrastructure. In addition to environmental and land management laws, this waiver addresses other legal and administrative impediments to completing this project by the end of the calendar year.
A substantial portion of the project areas addressed by these waivers have already undergone environmental reviews. In those areas where environmental reviews have not yet occurred, the department will conduct a review before any major construction begins. The department remains deeply committed to environmental responsibility, and will continue to work closely with the Department of Interior and other federal and state resources management agencies to ensure impacts to the environment, wildlife, and cultural and historic artifacts are analyzed and minimized.
The department also places a high priority on interaction with, and feedback from, local officials, landowners and community members about border infrastructure project plans. Since May 2007, more than 600 individual landowners have been contacted and over 100 meetings with local officials, public open houses and town halls have been held along the southwest border.
The department has used its discretionary waiver authority on three previous occasions. Certain environmental restrictions were waived on Sept. 13, 2005 to complete a roughly 14-mile stretch of fencing, as part of the Border Infrastructure System, near San Diego, California. A second waiver of environmental restrictions was used for additional border infrastructure near the Barry M. Goldwater Range in southern Arizona on Jan. 12, 2007. A third waiver of environmental restrictions was issued on Oct. 26, 2007, allowing the construction of border infrastructure to move forward near the San Pedro National Riparian Conservation Area in southern Arizona.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The document, The National Commission Plan 2008/2009, admits that the Prison Service currently has no specific programmes aimed at the risk posed by extremism within top-security jails.
There is an urgent requirement to understand the custodial behaviour of this group of offenders and its potential impact on other prisoners, the paper says.
Last year jail watchdogs gave warning of the effect of an influx of rival groups schooled in gun and gang culture.
There are more than 130 terrorist prisoners in England and Wales, including 113 category A prisoners. A Whitehall document released in November said that the number of terrorist prisoners is projected to rise to 1,600 by 2016-17.”

Iraqi Army Brigade unilateral operation nets al-Qaeda in Iraq, sizeable cache
Multi-National Division North PAO
KIRKUK, Iraq The 15th Iraqi Army Brigade detained 12 enemy personnel during an intelligence-driven operation in Hafriyah, southeast of Kirkuk, Iraq, March 31.
During an IA brigade unilateral operation, Iraqi Army soldiers conducted a cordon and search to capture or kill the Al Qaeda in Iraq cell responsible for the March 23 attack on 3rd Battalion, 15th Iraqi Army Brigade, 4th Iraqi Army Division.
The 15th Iraqi Army Brigade also discovered a cache during the operation that contained 400 30mm rounds, 83 57mm rockets, seven propane tanks, six blocks of C-4, 25 250-pound bombs and five 130mm projectiles as well as numerous small arms weapons and bomb-making materials.
The safety of the Iraqi people depends on how fast CF and IA find these caches and thus far they have proven very efficient and effective at doing so, said Maj. Dan Meyers, a U.S. military spokesman in northern Iraq.

INTERNVIEW SNIPPET: “Q: Does Mr. Tretyakov say this kind of espionage continues?
A: Oh, absolutely. Oh, absolutely. He ran more than 60 SVR officers in the U.N. His statement today is that if you cant find someone who will spy for you at the U.N., then you need to be shipped home because its a fertile ground for recruiting spies.”
