Obama and his "White Grandmother"
Wall Street Journal ^ | March 18, 2008Wa | James Taranto

Barack Obama took the stage this morning to give what was billed as a "major speech on race." It was, of course, an attempt to rescue his campaign from the revelation that his so-called spiritual mentor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, espouses a virulently anti-American and antiwhite worldview called "black liberation theology."

The quote from Cone about half way into the article is the ugliest stuff I have read about the foundation of Obama's "Christianity."

That quote is insanely vile. Here it is:

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. . . . Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

It seems appropriate to include a quote by another person who is responsible for Obama's philosophy, Saul Alinsky:

Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins -- or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom -- Lucifer.

Aside from attacking people who can’t come forward to challenge him; Obama exudes nuance and shading and fabrication in a package in a distinctly offensive way. The suit and soul are both very empty.

I wonder if his grandmother even said the things he mentions.

How tacky.

Using one’s loving grandmother to make a political point.

Wright credits James Cone of New York’s Union Theological Seminary with having undertaken this systematization. Here again is Cone’s description of black liberation theology:

“Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.”

This hideous blasphemy is totally against the God of the Bible. Jesus taught, “Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12. “He who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.” 1 John 3:15

Newt, is speaking about his comments regarding his grandmother.

He said when he first heard the speech he thought it was brilliant, but when he read the speech over again he was astounded by how he threw his own grandmother under the bus.

Wonder how Obama’s racist granny and Rev’run Wright get along at Thanksgiving dinnner. Must be like a Richard Pryor routine.

She probably felt uncomfortable when an unsavory character passed by her on the streets and that in PRIVATE is what she likely Said to Hussein Obama.
Jesse Jackson himself expressed the same comments regarding being uncomfortable about some black men coming up from behind him also. Does Obama cringe hearing Jackson?

Most important is the fact that YOU CAN'T PICK YOUR GRANDPARENTS, but you CAN PICK YOUR PASTOR.

Obama is through.

Jesse Jackson expressed a fear of black men who pass him on the street. Sounds like Obama’s grandmother is in acceptable company.

I don’t know if his grandmother is deceased but he has now created in the minds of many people that are willing to believe anything nasty about whites that she was a racist. I don’t even know what her supposed vile racism was expect that she expressed being afraid of a black man she encountered on the street. Dennis Prager made a good point today. If it’s racist, isn’t it also sexist? She probably wouldn’t have been afraid of a black woman. His grandma looked after him and this is the thanks she gets. What she said in private is used to justify the vile things Rev. Wright has said publically and save Obama’s suddenly failing presidential run. Throw white grandma under the bus.

I keep picturing Obama’s Grandma as a Don Rickles style insult comic.

He said when he first heard the speech he thought it was brilliant, ...

Obama looked like a piece of petrified wood reading his left and right teleprompter. It wasn't a speech but him reciting words... just words. Those words were written by a few speech writers. The speech had absolutely no worth because they are only coming from a politician who just fell into quicksand and he is looking for someone to throw him a line to get out of his dilemma.

Cone’s statement is not theology. It’s an attempt to establish a black nationalist club, and call it religion.

If one assumes the existence of God, then God is what God is. We have nothing to do and nothing to say about the nature of God.

For the men and women of Rev. Wright's generation, the memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have not gone away; nor has the anger and the bitterness of those years.

Barack sure contradicts himself

Yes, We Can Change!! Wright can't change
