Her blatant nepotism at the taxpayer-bankrolled Harold Washington Cultural Center ...others are wondering how Obama's decision to back such a die-hard proponent of slavery reparations will play in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Here's info from another FR thread The Alderman and the Senator [Why DID Obama support a corrupt Chicago alderman?]
"I was surprised, and horrified, to learn that Barack Obama endorsed Alderman Dorothy Tillman for re-election in Tuesday's runoff. For those of you who aren't local or who wisely avoid the open sewer of Chicago politics, Dorothy Tillman is the disastrously corrupt, incompetent, and even demented alderman of the south side's long-decrepit 3rd Ward..."

"I just can't understand is how he could throw in with Tillman, the one example I know of the kind of person white right-wingers imagine when they think of black politicians linking militant race rhetoric to city machine corruption."

Chicago Connections: Barack Obama, Dorothy Tillman and Tony Rezko Mon Mar 03, 2008 at 01:42:28 PM
... Dorothy Tillman was exposed by a community newspaper for using a taxpayer-funded development project to steer contracts to family and friends and possibly cheat the IRS.

... Now, the 60-year-old Tillman has landed herself in jail.

Early yesterday morning, Tillman was arrested in her native Montgomery, Alabama and charged with criminal trespassing for tussling with local hospital administrators. ...

Tillman, whose ward included the largest concentration of vacant lots in Chicago, has long been known for shady dealings and bombastic behavior, including once pulling out a gun and waving it around at a city council meeting. Obama’s support of Tillman angered many in his hometown but did not receive national attention. M –Todd Spivak

Defending your home = War on black males!
Enter Chicago Alderman Dorothy Tillman, .... who said the law will "lead to open war on black males." and blah, blah, blah "It's almost a way to eliminate people. Black men will be under the ground more than ever."

Maybe his decision to back her is to compensate for his being a member of the party of slavery and Jim Crow.

I’ll bet you that Dorothy Tillman is a very strong supporter of abortion rights and is completely oblivious to the carnage inflicted on the black community by the abortion industry.

Power Politics Privilege: A Lakefront Outlook Examination of the Harold Washington Cultural Center

More than 10 years after groundbreaking, the Harold Washington Cultural Center (HWCC), 4701 S. King Dr., opened to great fanfare in 2004. ...

Tillman heralded the HWCC’s opening as the beginning of Bronzeville’s economic renaissance. But today much of neighborhood remains peppered by vacant lots — new businesses to the area have been few. And the HWCC is running a budget deficit amid allegations by Tillman’s political opponents of cronyism, nepotism and financial deals that directly benefit Tillman’s relatives and friends.

In a three-part series, the Lakefront Outlook will explore the factors that led to the conception, funding, construction and operation of the HWCC. This series will explore the factors, influences and potential consequences to the public of the plans and apparent realities for what was supposed to be the cornerstone of historic Bronzeville’s economic and cultural rebirth.

Could be. She has said

"Things have not changed. The economy for blacks in this country is just as bad as it was under Jim Crow. "
