Many voting for Clinton to boost GOP (Exit poll data, Rush Limbaugh)
Boston Globe / Boston.com ^ | March 17, 2008 | Scott Helman

For a party that loves to hate the Clintons, Republican voters have cast an awful lot of ballots lately for Senator Hillary Clinton: About 100,000 GOP loyalists voted for her in Ohio, 119,000 in Texas, and about 38,000 in Mississippi, exit polls show.

A sudden change of heart? Hardly.

Since Senator John McCain effectively sewed up the GOP nomination last month, Republicans have begun participating in Democratic primaries specifically to vote for Clinton, a tactic that some voters and local Republican activists think will help their party in November. With every delegate important in the tight Democratic race, this trend could help shape the outcome if it continues in the remaining Democratic primaries open to all voters.

Spurred by conservative talk radio, GOP voters who say they would never back Clinton in a general election are voting for her now for strategic reasons: Some want to prolong her bitter nomination battle with Barack Obama, others believe she would be easier to beat than Obama in the fall, or they simply want to register objections to Obama.

"It's as simple as, I don't think McCain can beat Obama if Obama is the Democratic choice," said Kyle Britt, 49, a Republican-leaning independent from Huntsville, Texas, who voted for Clinton in the March 4 primary. "I do believe Hillary can mobilize enough [anti-Clinton] people to keep her out of office."

Britt, who works in financial services, said he is certain he will vote for McCain in November.

I am of the opinion it is better to get rid of Hillary as fast as possible, like cancer. But the situation the democrats are in sure is appealing and El Rushbo is the genius - so I am keeping my nerves in check and enjoying the show.

This is the Left beginning to direct the anger of the black community at the Right should HRC win the nomination (for any reason) from Obama.

Rush Bimbaugh is no genius! Ann Coulter, however, IS a genius! She preceded Bimbaugh with her “I’ll vote for Hillary before I’ll ever vote for McLame!” statement on
H & C.

Some Republicans think that Hillary will be easier for McAmnesty to beat than Obmama. Could be...However, the Clinton Machine is more powerful than most people realize, and she’s not going to back down easily. So far, Obama hasn’t won any big states—Hillary has. Obama has not proven he can win the big ones. Hillary has, and WITHOUT the black vote! Independent conservatives like me have no wuff in this hunt, but many of us know that a MQueeg Presidency means a weakened and possibly a Pelosi-led House, and that means Amnesty! The only hope of these three, bad, rotten apples is for Hillary to somehow pull it out—the nomination from the Obamanation, I mean. If she does, we’ll almost certainly get enough conservative Congressmen elected to regain control of the House. It is THE ONLY hope we have...

Without Rush Limbaugh’s endorsements of Fred Thompson and Mitt Romeny in South Carolina and Florida, the GOP would have ended up with a nominee like John McCain.

I agree, this story is a plant.

One thing Republicans know is that Democrats are institutionally racist.

If Obama wins the nom, white Republicans won’t vote for him because he’s a Democrat. White Democrats won’t vote for him because he is black.

It is to our advantage to see Obama get the nod. As such, there is no way repubs would vote for her in the primaries.

Hillary also knows this and she also knows that if she does get the nom, it will be at the expense of losing the black vote. The damage control spin has begun.

It’s hard to fight the wind or the rain, which is exactly what you’re fighting with Barak Obama. The guy is all things to all people—a master of the term “we.”

With Hillary Clinton, you have a polarizing force that you can mount an assault upon. And she doesn’t have the protective coast of race, either. Nor the silver tongue.

There’s also the side issue that I trust Hillary Clinton a lot more than Barak Obama to defend our nation if things go south. Nobody challenges her authority and gets away with it. My guess is that this applies on a global scale, as well.

Obama is just as much the socialist. He’s far more effective, and he’s far more likeable.

Rush Limbaugh (El Zibo) goal is not to have a fight between the democrat his goal is to have Hillary Clinton the nominee because she has better chance of defeating McCain than Obama does. El Zibo and many like him have only one goal in this election: “Defeat John McCain at any cost”.

Nor the silver tongue.

That's putting it mildly. When she gets into the climax of a speech, she sounds like the demon spawn of a hyena and a fishwife. And that cackling laugh, God, it will drive me crazy if I have to listen to four years of that as she dismantles everything that made this country great.

Rush doesn't have the power to determine who is selected POTUS from this point forward. It's up to the delegates now. He could have easily influenced the outcome of the primaries, but chose not to until the 'Pubbies selected their nominee. On this basis, your theory is bunk.

El Zibo knows that if Hillary Clinton is the nominee she is going to be President. She is going to win Ohio and Arkansas and becomes President. Obama does not have a chance in hell to win these two states. El Zibo could not defeat John McCain in the primaries so he want Hillary Clinton to defeat him in the general elections.

Many independents will vote for Obama in the general election who won’t vote for Hillary.

Many conservatives will (grudgingly) vote in the general against Hillary when they might stay home if against Obama.

Hillary is easier to beat. She lacks the messiah factor and she already has a well-proven and very high hate-index.

El Zibo knows that if Hillary Clinton is the nominee she is going to be President.

How can he possibly know that? He doesn't and neither do you.

Hillary has something on the order of 49% negatives, and the real dirt on her hasn't even come out yet, nor has it come out on Osama/Obama, either, for that matter. This latest flap with Osama/Obama's pastor is just the tip of the iceberg. Similarly, Hillary can't hold off releasing her tax returns and other financial information much longer, or it will raise serious eyebrows. Then, you add to this all the anger that both have stirred up in the anti-war leftists, and we have the makings for 1968 (or worse) all over again. You do recall which party won in 1968 after the fiasco in Chicago, right?

On top of that, Hillary will have to use Superdelegates, most likely at a brokered convention, to steal the nomination from Osama/Obama. Mathematically, it's the only way she can win the nomination, even with a do-over in Florida and Michigan, which ain't gonna happen. I suppose Rush is going to force the Superdelegates to vote for Hillary, too, so "he" can defeat McCain?

There are 50 states, not 2. Everything I said will have an effect in all 50 states, including the 2 you mentioned.

If Rush and Hannity, really think it is going to be easier to beat clinton than obama, they need to have their heads examined. Anyone who has studied the clintons knows and uderstands that once the clintons have their eyes on something, they will kill to get it. Obama is a walking dead man. If it takes his death to clear the path for hillary, then his life isn't worth a plug nichol.

I pity those charged with protecting obama. Wait till obama states getting into the clinton past as the race get's tighter.
