If Spitzer Quits, Clinton Would Lose One of Her Superdelegates
The Wall Street Journal ^ | March 12,2008

If New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigns, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton will be down one superdelegate.

The scandal-tainted governor and his lieutenant governor, David Paterson, who is a Democratic National Committee member, are among the roughly 800 superdelegates who will also cast ballots at the August nominating convention. Both support Sen. Clinton. The DNC confirmed yesterday that New York would lose Mr. Spitzer's superdelegate slot if he resigns.

I don't know, but if Limbaugh is chuckling, is he chuckling thru his tears?

Will Hillary then give up the Prez run and say she wants to be Gov. of NY?
I think Hillary’s taste in hookers is more the back alley crack head type.

Didn't BJ Clinton set the bar really high for gutter morality while in office?

I would think that getting BJ's in the Oval Office while on duty is far worse than buying hookers.

That would be my defense if I were Spitzer.

I wonder, actually, how many of the superdels are vulnerable to blackmail....an IRS agent is linked to this “agency” and would probably know...

You don't get it, this isn't Spitzer just having gutter morality, this is Spitzer having "ILLEGAL" gutter morality.

Will an new Lieutenant Governor be appointed, or will New York have to survive without one until the next election. If one is appointed, I would expect that he would be a superdelegate also.

"You don't get it..."

Doing a parody of a liberal is virtually impossible I admit, but there is always at least one person who takes it seriously.

From the DUmmie FUnnie thread I posted in reply #9

Under New York law, Lt. Gov. David Paterson would take his place. Paterson is also a superdelegate who has endorsed Hillary. However, under New York law, Paterson’s position would be filled by the president of the state senate, Joseph Bruno, who is a Republican. Bruno would not be allowed to vote in Denver – and he certainly wouldn’t vote for Hillary if he were given the chance.

I have to say having a “gutter morality “ Prez Clinton in office was worse to me personally, than having an “illegal gutter morality” Gov. Spitzer in the New York Capital office. ha.

In Spitzers case, abuse of power seems to be a separate issue from sex: his whole career was built on prosecutorial overreach and bullying.

Ol’ Bill Clinton, on the other hand managed to combine the two: daliances with an intern, the kind of thing that would get corporate CEO’s, university professors with tenure, and pretty much anyone else in a position of authority, cashiered from their job almost instantaneously.
