Mr. Spitzer won't resign until he reaches an agreement with the government not to pursue charges, say those familiar with his legal team's thinking.

Let’s hope he manages to stay in office as long as he can. The worse it is for Hillary, and the better it is for the NY GOP and Senate. If Patterson becomes governor, he’ll be in there for 12 years. How do you beat a blind black man?

If this were you or I, we would already be in jail. This P.O.S. needs to go down.

Twisting in the wind ... but in this instance, it’s by his own choice.

Why should the Feds care whether or not he resigns? That should be between him, his fellow Democrats and the people of New York.

If I were a federal prosecutor, I would say: “No deal. If you want to continue to try to be governor while you’re being prosecuted, that’s your business. Personally, I think if I were in your shoes, I’d rather not have to be a criminal defendant while under the glare of the public spotlight as a sitting governor.”

This son of a bitch prosecuted and jailed people for doing the same thing he has done. Why should he get off without serving jail time, if that is the penalty for what he can be charged with?

Disclosure: As a philosophical matter, I do not happen to think discreet prostitution should be illegal. But as long as it is, and since he has put people away for engaging in it, I say nail him.

There’s a unconfirmed umor going around, that Democrat Spitzer, has been ‘Client 9’...for 8 years!

I find myself wondering if he, other than by lack of acknowledgment, used his Offices to shield, or otherwise benefit, the ‘Emporers Club’?

"New York governor Eliot Spitzer resisted mounting calls for his resignation Tuesday, as he first tried to work out an agreement with prosecutors not to file criminal charges against him"

Meaning he KNOWINGLY committed a crime. This is important. He's ruined the lives of people who committed no crime because he had a grudge or whatever against them. Now he's basically admitted that HE's a criminal.

'Course, it's kinda hard for a former AG pit bull to claim he was ignorant of participating in money laundering. Guess he's just bright enough to figure that out.

I hope he continues to resist. Let this become a festering, open sore on the entire RAT Party, not only in New York, but all over America!

Drive home to all of the voters in this country, how totally corrupt and hypocritical the RATS are!

Elliot Spitzer is the poster child for the true RAT Party!

New York governor Eliot Spitzer resisted mounting calls

I find that very hard to believe.

Federal Agent: “Alright Governor, come out from under your desk, we know you’re under there”

Spitzer: “NO, and don’t try to make me, we are at war and don’t make me come after you”

"Mr. Spitzer won't resign until he reaches an agreement with the government not to pursue charges, say those familiar with his legal team's thinking."

Meaning there are a lot of people in positions of power that he's going to open his files on if they persue charges.

Lets look at this from a legal perspective. The morality of his behavior is only sticking to character for those of us who have been exposed to him as a scumbag AG and doesn’t surprise too many.

Legally, he set up 2 corporations to run cash through to pay the prostitutes. He knew about banking scrutiny for large sums of money so he had 2 of these corps set up. He got caught when he was transferring funds from one to the other and realized that he should have had smaller amounts and tried to reverse what he was doing. Now, the Mann Act is set up to prevent interstate commerce of prostitutes and others. He paid to have the ladies travel from NY to Washington DC (or at least the most recent acts in February; who know what he was doing over the past 10 years and where).

He should be forced to resign, be charged with felonies and not be allowed to bargain his way out of it. He should have his law license taken away (not like Bubba who lost his for only 5 years but makes millions from speeches) and tossed in jail with the common criminals that he is. My two cents.

My 2 cents says he won't resign. The media has already started turning this into a Republican vs. Democrat issue, rather than a corrupt politician breaking multiple laws issue.
