CHAPEL HILL -- Police released photos of a person who may be a suspect in the murder of UNC student Eve Carson.

Chapel Hill police have two surveillance photos of a possible suspect, someone Chief Brian Curran called "a person of interest" during a Saturday morning press conference about the Carson murder investigation. That person is wanted for questioning, after attempting to use Carson's ATM card. He is pictured wearing a baseball cap with a star on it.

On a previous thread, some nut was insiting this girl was a lesbian based on the fact that one of her pictures was taken in front of a violet backdrop, and that she was killed because she was a communist who was killed by a cuban hit squad.

“That’s just the result of following court cases in this country for the last 25 years.”

I’ve learned that any woman who dies just prior to divorcing her husband did so because the clutz fell backwards in her garage or basement and hit her head.
Upon discovering the injury, the poor husband “panics” and is forced to either burn the house down, or feed her into the wood chipper and scatter her across the local forest.

I think it was dateline this past week where 2 hubbies used that exact same defense.

There must be certain scenarios they teach in Defense 101.

From the UNC student newspaper The Daily Tar Heel:

Police believe the suspect to be wearing this hat.

When I first saw the ATM photos, my immediate thought was gang member. Sadly, several long standing Chapel Hill festival traditions have been kiboshed in recent years due to local gang activity.

Someone should ask A-Bama if he believes this is a hate crime.

She could have just as easily been jogging to wake up, or going to pick up her roommate from a party. Just because you speculate the worst of this UNC scholar doesn’t mean you need to publish such unfounded rubbish.

Oh, I agree. "Hate crime" legislation is only used to turn reality on it's head and the sentence should be for the crime not the supposed thought or motive.

While the overwhelming majority of inter-racial violent crime is black on white, the msm encourages the opposite view. Hanging nooses in a tree in LA is a hate crime while the murders of Channon Christian and Christoher Newsome, the Wichita Massacre and other such atrocities are just run of the mill crime.

Too bad the girl he murdered was too much of a big-time leftist to carry a handgun

Nowadays, college students aren't allowed to either have or carry guns on campus. It is unlikely she would either have one or be carrying one because of the extreme effort needed legally owning one and the problems involved in carrying one legally on her frequent forays on and off campus, if for no other reason.

Most schools prefer their students be unarmed victims. No doubt this young woman fit the bill perfectly. Her killer likely suspected that was the case when he correctly identified her as a helpless student victim whom he could terrorize and murder at his leisure.

And he did.

chae: some nut was insiting this girl was a lesbian based on the fact that one of her pictures was taken in front of a violet backdrop, and that she was killed because she was a communist who was killed by a cuban hit squad

Two things:

1) First of all, on that other thread, I said very explicitly that a carjacking was the most likely possibility, and that the exotic possibilities were further down the list of things which needed to be examined.

2) I knew absolutely nothing at all about this girl when I was posting on that thread - I had never heard of her, prior to her murder I didn't know that she existed, and I hadn't really thought much about the Student Body Government at UNC [or really anything about UNC in general] in [quite literally] decades. However, what I said on that other thread was that just from glancing at her resumé, the "Havana, Cuba" item stuck out like a sore thumb, that it was completely out of place, that it was something which shouldn't have been there, and that it indicated that there was something badly wrong in the crowd she was running with.

Malesherbes: Out of the naive goodness of her heart, she may just have decided to give this cretin a ride.

Aaron0617: But on one of the memorial clips I saw they did praise her for giving rides.

This question of how the thug [or thugs] ended up in her SUV is very intriguing.

She was last seen by her roommates at about 1:30AM, and her murder was reported to 911 at about 5:00AM.

It seems to me that there are roughly three physical possibilities here, multiplied by two social possibilities:

1) The thugs were unknown to her, and burst into her apartment and ordered her, at gunpoint, to take them for a ride in her SUV. [Social multiplier: The thugs were known to her, and she invited them into her apartment, and then to come along with her for a ride in her SUV.]

2) As she was walking from her apartment to her SUV [there's some disagreement as to whether the SUV was parked at her apartment or up the street a way], the thugs assaulted her, and ordered her, at gunpoint, to take them for a ride in her SUV. [Social multiplier: As she was walking to her SUV, she engaged the thugs in conversation and invited them to come along with her for a ride in her SUV.]

3) Once she was in the SUV [possibly even moving down the road], the thugs managed to get the SUV over to the side of the road [there's been some speculation that they may have rammed her with another car], and forced their way into the SUV, at gunpoint. [Social multiplier: As she was driving her SUV, she saw the thugs walking down the sidewalk, pulled over, and asked them if they would like a ride.]

Now let me digress for a minute and get back to the question of her resumé.

Like I said above, when I was posting on that other thread a few days ago, I knew absolutely nothing about this girl.

But in the interim, I've read an enormous amount about her, and I feel like I am starting to get a better picture of what her attitudes might have been.

From her official "biography" at UNC:

1) Morehead Scholar

2) double major, Poly Sci & Biology, with a view towards "pre-med"

3) Phi Beta Kappa

4) Student Body President

5) teaching at Frank Porter Graham Elementary School in Chapel Hill and tutoring at Githens Middle School in Durham

6) semester in Havana, Cuba

7) additional travel to Ecuador, Egypt and Ghana

8) heavy involvement in an anti-hunger campaign called "Nourish International"

When I first read that list of - gosh, I hate to call them "accomplishments" - ugh, they almost read more like court-ordered punishments - anyway, when I first read that list, my immediate thought was, "When did this poor girl find the time to sleep?"

Just being a biology major preparing for med-school [taking the MCATs and filling out all the paperwork for the various med-school applications] is just about a full time job; throw in a double major in Poly Sci, and you can forget about everything else.

But then there's the Presidency of the Student Body - just about a full time job in and of itself. Plus tutoring & teaching at both the elementary & middle-school levels? [And she's not even an education major - how in the world did she score those gigs?]

Anyway, this poor girl had spread herself so thin that you could legitimately question her sanity.

By the way, there's an indication in this Herald-Sun article that maybe she had indeed spread herself too thin - maybe for whatever reason she wasn't getting acceptance letters from the medical schools [hard to believe if she really was Phi Beta Kappa, and if she really was taking legitimate biology courses - her MCAT scores would have to have been extremely low for her not to have been admitted to at least a handful of medical schools], or maybe she had started to let the biology coursework slide, and she was only going to be able to get a single degree in Poly Sci [rather than a double major in Poly Sci & Biology], or maybe she so enjoyed what she had tasted of life as an elitist politico that she didn't want anything to do with getting her hands dirty in medicine [that seems to be what happened to Chelsea Clinton, who started out at Stanford with the intention of going to medical school, but ended up going to Oxford in politics and then getting a cushy job at a hedge fund].

But the thing which really changed my thinking about Eve Carson was the following picture at WRAL:

While it was true that she was busy assembling a resumé like a young Hillary Rodham, or a Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, unlike those two fellow travellers - who understood that the purpose of liberalism is not to actually "help" people, as its rhetoric would suggest, but rather its purpose is to serve as the pseudo-intellectual foundation upon which political power is accumulated - that unlike those hardened cynics, the picture of Eve in the fireman's hat was simply so goofy [quite frankly silly, bordering on ridiculous] that it made me realize that maybe Eve Carson really was a true believer.

That maybe she was what Lenin would have called a useful idiot.

That maybe she was the kind of girl who would have swooned at an Obama rally.

That maybe she really did believe that if we all just joined hands and sang, "Kumbaya", then the world would be better place ["for you and me"].

So getting back to the question of how the thugs made their way into her SUV - we know that Eve travelled extensively throughout the third world [Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt and Ghana], and that she was involved in teaching young people at very troubled institutions.

For instance, take a look at e.g. the demographics of Githens Middle School, in Durham:

56% African American
20% White
19% Hispanic
Schooldigger North Carolina State Ranking: 412th (of 447 public middle schools)
http://www.schooldigger.com/go/NC/schools/0126000549/school.aspx

60% African American
20% White
15% Hispanic
http://nc.localschooldirectory.com/schools_info.php/school_id/62524

http://www.publicschoolreview.com/school_ov/school_id/59308

Coming out of a tutoring background like that [and the demographics at Frank Porter Graham Elementary School are similar, if not identical], it's entirely possible that Eve Carson knew her attackers - either as her students, or as older siblings of her students, or as parents of her students.

And even if she didn't know her attackers personally, it's certainly probable that she felt as though she "understood" young thugs like the fellows who would prove to be her attackers.

So we what we may be dealing with here was a poor girl who was working herself to death in order to assemble the picture-perfect resumé, who was still awake, working, at 1:30AM, and who must have left her house sometime between 4:00AM and 5:00AM so as to "work" even more [possibly heading for her office, at the student center], and who believed so fervently in this do-gooder ethic of "helpingness" that she might very well have invited these thugs along for a ride with her.

Which is to say: Eve Carson may have been a girl who was quite literally murdered by her own unswerving allegiance to the pagan religion of Liberalism.

Could be crips, the 5 pointed star is also symbolic of People’s Nation, a gang confederation made up of many individual gangs pledging loyalty to People’s Nation. Their rivals are the Folk Nation which uses the 6 pointed star. Just throwing that out there...

The 5-point star is one of the symbols of Bloods/People Nation members, who oppose the Crips/Folk Nation.

Crip gang members tend to use this symbol also. ...

The “People” alliance, in most instances, utilize the five pointed star in their gang graffiti. The five pointed star has its origin with the Black Stone Rangers/Black P Stone Nation, one of the larger black street gangs. The alliance’s term “high five, six must die” is in reference to their five pointed star versus the six pointed star of the “Folks” alliance. Commonly used by the “People” alliance are drawings of pitchforks pointing down which shows disrespect to the rival “Folks” alliance.

Can you remember where you saw that video?

Vice Lord marker and hand sign, sometimes drawn, sometimes used as a hand signal. The five-pointed star is used by the Vice Lords and Bloods

Some gangs use particular sports team clothing to represent their gang by picking a team that uses the colors associated with gangs. They may also pick out a team’s clothing because of the symbol represented by that team, such as the five point star used by the Dallas Cowboys.

Gangs are often associated with one of two groups: the Folks or Hoover Nation gang, or the Peoples. Jewelry with a six-point star indicates a membership with a gang related to the Folks and a five-point star is associated with the Peoples.
