Gov't: Girl’s Autism-Like Symptoms Linked to Vaccines

Federal Officials Say Vaccines Worsened Condition That Led to Autism Spectrum Disorder in Georgia Girl

Federal officials say a Georgia girl is entitled to compensation from a federal vaccine injury fund because she developed autism-like symptoms after receiving childhood vaccines in 2000.

Hannah's father, Jon, tells WebMD he was not surprised by the compensation decision.

"When you are talking about the courtroom versus science, the burden of proof is different," Poling says. "(But) we showed there was a plausible mechanism. We showed that an injury occurred shortly after her vaccination. Her growth curve went flat for months."

The government has not said that childhood vaccines cause autism; rather, officials conclude that the vaccines given to the girl in 2000 aggravated a pre-existing condition -- a mitochondrial disorder -- that then manifested as a regressive neurological disease with some symptoms of autism spectrum disorder.

Those who believe there is a vaccine-autism link call the decision a victory, but those who see no link worry that parents will once again shy away from childhood vaccines.

"Nothing of this situation should be generalized to the risk of vaccines for normal children," CDC Director Julie Gerberding, MD, said at a news conference. "None of this is going to change any of our recommendations stating the importance of vaccination for every child."

(Are you changing your child's vaccine schedule because of autism fears? Tell us what you're thinking on WebMD's Autism Support Group message board.)

The Back Story Autism and autism spectrum disorders begin before the age of 3, according to the CDC, and include a group of developmental disabilities marked by great difficulty in social interaction and communication. Difficulties on the spectrum range from mild to severe...

I got cancer as a kid about 18 months after I went off of soy formula, therefore soy milk caused my cancer.

No, no! Going OFF soy formula caused your cancer! It’s the milk that gave you cancer!

Article mentions mercury, speculates about neurotoxicity, but does not mention whether these vaccines were of the type that now commonly include fetal cells from aborted babies.

I wonder if such a perversion of nature, using murdered humans to create “medicines” to prevent illness in still-developing young humans, is not eventually going to cause weird outcomes. They are now finally documenting that IVF-created humans have twice the incidence of illness of naturally-conceived humans. You can’t fool mother nature (or God).

What do you have to substantiate that claim?

I personally am not thrilled with these kinds of articles as they not only say that autism naturally occurs from doing something specific but that we are freaks and beware of those who have it.

I have aspergers(an advanced and somewhat common form of it) and was termed PDD(Pervasive Developmental Disorder) before that. If you read this and my other posts, you would get a sense of my abnormal personality. I didn’t eat carrots, or get some special syrup to have it. I can understand, though, how getting people hooked on psychological drugs can lead to disabilities.

Another thing I have a problem with is that it puts people like me in a box, identified by my disability(which isn’t even a hard nut to crack) and not by my individuality. I denied asperger’s for a while, and than learned to live with it(The Little Professor’s part made me feel pleasant). This kind of stuff, deliberately targeting it and not any other neurological disorder possibly because of Hillary’s proposed funding. It reveals the stupidity of the press and should be blamed for softening our individual cores(Nixon had asperger’s from whatever he had I guess) and believing that our quirks are mad enough to be covered under a SSI Disability income.

What I do find deeply ironic is that this seems to be a big newsday for causes of autism yet homosexuality is still the one issue where no reporter dares tread. I am sure that if homosexuality was caused by a vaccine than these reporters will keep it hidden. I rue the day that ADA made us all test tube babies, and even government agencies(VR for example) are trying to manuever around “discrimination” caused by the ADA programs. INSANE!

What? This is common knowledge; there was an article right here on FR about it just in the past few weeks, and one freeper in the comments posted a link to a website that specifically listed which vaccines. Oh, and now that I recall, there was another article about a biotech company in California, just within the past week or so, that is developing vaccines specifically that do not use aborted babies, so parents don’t have the “moral dilemma” of not vaccinating their children or using vaccines created from murdered humans.

I’m not going to spend a bunch of time finding the articles for you, but I am surprised that you doubt my statement, I thought this was fairly well-known by now. Or, maybe I should not be surprised, certainly the government and the pharma companies don’t advertise it.

Also, fyi, there are legal efforts underway by pro-life groups to get laws passed that pharma companies must state which vaccines use aborted baby cells, so people at least know.

Someone has a pro-life ping list and probably could list articles, I’ll spend a few minutes on it, it’s 11 pm. But I’m not making any of this up, I’ve read in print and online about it for several years! I’m sure several Freepers will back me up.

An interesting comment from a Freeper post a while back (can I quit now? Thanks for your interest!)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1750799/posts

“Aside from the cannibalism factor (humanity sinks to that low, to cure older humans?), the DNA of fetal cells carries all sorts of surprises. Don’t expect scientists exploiting these tissue sources to reveal any bad side effects of their work ... one need only note the possible links to autism and the ‘preservative’ used with vaccines, to see that a real cause is not likely to ever be admitted and nobody is even admitting to check for possible genetic ‘leakage’. When human growth hormone was being produced from cadavers, the inveigling of a genetically/viral linked nerve disease was discovered but the cadaveric process continued until an artifical means was discovered to produce the hormone. Short answer, no, I don’t know of any proven ones from fetal tissues, yet.”

Thank you for this post. I had no idea! This will make certain vaccine issues much easier to decide upon.

I went to school and studied in a field related to this so I am quite familiar with science. This scares the heck out of me.
