A couple at the "cross roads" of a "complicated" love story. That's how Diane Sawyer set up the feature on a transgendered Microsoft executive, his/her wife, and their son in the 8:00 half-hour on "Good Morning America."
The socially progressive bent of GMA was evident in the lack of context or perspective given to the family's story. No consideration was given to the glaring social issues raised. It was reported as just another human-interest story.
Video (2:00): Windows (7.31 MB), plus MP3 audio (917 kB)
The five-minute feature, reported by Neal Karlinsky, explained the conflict Michael Wallent had with his identification as a male, his decision to become a female and the ramifications of that decision in his workplace and at home.

This is what it's coming to - societies have always had outcasts and people on the fringe, some are very sick people; just because they now have doctors willing for a buck to mutilate them and they then get press and instant world wide web attention, hardly means this is the direction society is headed.

I think I'll respond in the manner of the professor I had in college who taught symbolic logic:
"CRAPOLA!" - That's EXACTLY what this means.
Head, meet Sand.

CRAPOLA!
So you do not feel that the people that do this are not on the fringe, are not sick people, that doctors do not mutilate these people?

Unless I serially miss my guess, you live in a city that is trying its best to legitimize this kind of stuff and make it the norm, do you not?
Of all people, you should be aware of the trends. What they’re doing here, just as they have done with federal laws and social entitlements is called “incrementalism.”
Every story like this that gets press and credence adds impetus to the changiing of the “norm.”

No, I do not; please show me where the City of San Francisco is trying to make mutilation the norm or is this just one of those things that everyone knows?

This is what it HAS come too. This is also why network tv is not being watched. Every network promotes this type of broadcasting. It's nauseating, thus people do not want to see it.

I disagree, and would bet millions just like m,e do as well. If it were not the direction society is headed, then why the push for laws to force businesses, ANY type of business to hire these folks, including schools? Why the indoctrination in schools? School board openly state that they are preparing children for the society they live in.

Am I to understand since I cannot discriminate against someone (trans-gender) legally then it is the “norm”?

If society isn’t headed this way why are some cities and states passing “gender identity” laws allowing these freaks to use whatever locker room or rest room they want in addition to other special privileges?

The legal maxim in question is “Qui Tacet Consentiret” - Silence Gives Consent.
If silently tolerating deviant behavior gives consent to said behavior, then affording it formal legal protection estabilshes it as a norm.

Well I guess then I would have to agree with you. It is really very sad what has become of America, the land of the free. We allow people to be free to be freaks but in this case, it appears to be a high price.

This explains all of the "DIVERSITY" mantra coming from the HQ of major corporations.
Major perverts in the c-level suites.
Full Disclosure: Heather has two mommies. But only one of them is a real woman.
Second Disclosure: If they get divorced, will the judge side with the real woman, to address gender inequity, or the ex-guy, to address cross-gender inequity?
Cheers!
