That may be true, but he was also a homeless 11th grader. That had to suck. He tried to call his school counselor last night, she missed the call, and she's devastated.

Yeah, too bad. Another student could have killed him before he committed suicide.
The authorities will have to question his therapist, I guess.
Eleven year olds should not be homeless. I know, it’s liberal thinking, so I will duck and cover now!

Eleven-year-olds are not in the 11th grade.
If all he wanted was to commit suicide he would have done it out in the woods all by himself.
There were other factors driving his choice of place and making sure he had an audience.
It is too bad this kind of thing happens but there is one less potential mass murderer the rest of the town has to worry about tonight.
What a waste. He was a very handsome young man and could have become anything he wanted. So sad.

He was 18 years old, not 11.
Student Kills Self in Front of 150 Classmates at Alabama High School
"A student recently charged in a robbery fired a gun into the ceiling of his high school gym and then killed himself in front of about 150 classmates, police said.
Jajuan Holmes, 18, fatally shot himself about 10 a.m. at Davidson High School, police Chief Phillip Garrett said. He described the shooting as an isolated incident and said no one else was injured.
Holmes was charged a few weeks ago in a Dairy Queen robbery, which may have been a factor leading to the shooting, Garrett said. But he said the teen's death remained under investigation.
He said there had been no indication that Holmes might be suicidal.
Chelsea Smith, a fourth-year student, said she was seated in the gym bleachers when Holmes appeared at the top of the bleachers and walked down to the center of the gym court.
"He had a gun to his head," she said.
Smith said a coach walked toward Holmes, who pointed the gun at the coach until the coach retreated. She said Holmes then fired into the ceiling and shot himself.
Grief counselors were sent to the school, said Nancy Pierce, a spokeswoman for the Mobile County school system. She said classes would resume Friday.

Have seen so many of these killings and suicides where the person is on them or have just stopped taking them.

Do the police do follow ups on these school shootings to find out how the kids obtains guns?
What you’re missing here is that depression is terribly exhausting. Think back to a day when you’ve been mad all day (my wife and I have had all day on-and-off fights) and think of how exhausted you were by the end of it. Now imagine feeling like that all the time. In some patients, anti-depressants relieve just enough of the emotional turmoil to give them space to concentrate on a way “out” and the energy to do it.
