Former Clinton Official Named as Russian Dupe (Strobe Talbott)
Accuracy in Media ^ | March 04, 2008 | AIM Report

Posted on 03/04/2008 7:45:08 PM PST by river rat

Snip..... In what could be the biggest State Department scandal since State Department official and United Nations founder Alger Hiss was exposed as a Soviet spy, a top Clinton State Department official and former Time magazine journalist has been identified as having been a trusted contact of the Russian intelligence service.

Snip... The sensational charge against Strobe Talbott is made in a new book based on interviews with a Russian defector.

Snip... Talbott has been and continues to be a major foreign policy thinker. Back in 2000, when he was named head of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization, he was described as "a key architect of U.S. foreign policy" during the Clinton years. Talbott now serves as president of the liberal think tank, the Brookings Institution, in Washington, D.C., where he gets paid over $400,000 a year, leads a staff of 277 and presides over an endowment of over $200 million.

Snip.. This is not the first time that Talbott has come under scrutiny for his alleged contacts with agents of a foreign intelligence service. In 1994, when he was being considered for his State Department post in the Clinton Administration, he was grilled by Senator Jesse Helms, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, about his relationship with Victor Louis, a Soviet "journalist" who was actually a Soviet KGB intelligence agent. Talbott had been a young correspondent for Time magazine in Moscow.

Who could have seen this coming? LOL Let’s start a list of those who were close to Clinton that weren’t tainted. That would be easier, and would reveal a lot more suprises, if they could find anyone.

Hillary is good friends with Strobe Talbott’s wife, Brooke Shearer. In one article, it said that Brooke often travelled with Hillary. Brooke’s brother, Derek, and his family, were also close to the Clinton’s. Derek was Urban Planning Director and a professor of public policy at Occidental College beginning fall of 1981, the same year Obama left Occidental for Columbia. He was married to the mayor of Santa Monica, CA, and also involved in local politics along with longtime cohorts Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda. Derek was later one of WJC’s economic advisors and he appointed him Ambassador to Finland. He has a long resume. As to his relationship with the Clinton’s, the following is from a memorial in recognition of Derek’s son:

Remarks at a Memorial Service for Casey Shearer in Providence, Rhode Island
William J Clinton. Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents. Washington: May 29, 2000. Vol. 36, Iss. 21; pg. 1217, 2 pgs

Remarks at a Memorial Service for Casey Shearer in Providence, Rhode Island

May 25,2000

The President. Derek, Ruth, Anthony, Julia, Marva, Allyson, all of the family and friends, I want you to know why we’re here today. Over 30 years ago, I lived with Casey’s Uncle Strobe, and through him I met Casey’s Aunt Brooke. And they were in love, and so I then had to meet Derek and Cody and Marva and Skip. And then I introduced them to Hillary. And then Derek introduced all of us to Ruth. And the rest is history.

(snip)

Thank you.

NOTE: The President spoke at 5:45 p.m. in Sayles Hall at Brown University. In his remarks, he referred to the following members of Casey Shearer’s family: his uncle, Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott; his aunt, Brooke Shearer, former director, White House Fellowships; his father, former U.S. Ambassador to Finland Derek N. Shearer; his stepbrother, Anthony Shearer, and his stepsister, Julia; his mother, Ruth Y. Goldway; his grandparents, Lloyd (Skip) and Marva Shearer; and his uncle, journalist Cody Shearer. The President also referred to Casey’s girlfriend, Allyson Grant. The transcript released by the Office of the Press Secretary also included the remarks of the First Lady.

Who could have guessed?

Who wouldn't have? Matt Drudge has been on sounding the alarm about Talbott's one-world approach for almost a decade.

I fear most Americans have little interest in the important issues that will come to bear on their futures.....

They appear to have more interest in who is copulating with Paris Hilton, which rapper got shot in a drive by or the current status of American Idol competition.

A large segment of American youth is already lost to ignorance, drugs, crime and immorality....

Our warrior class seems to be the exception -- and that in itself is a problem of another nature... I recently attended an Army Ranger graduation at Fort Benning..... The sight of those young men brought uncontrollable tears to this old Marine.... It restored my hope for America that we can still raise men such as these....

Does the Nation still deserve their sacrifices?

Yes indeedy he is that for sure......

The Clinton “legacy” of treachery and deceit will not end until a stake is driven into the heart of the fat lady....

If the Magic Negro can’t do it, I guess we have to pray that the horribly flawed McCain can...

Ain’t it the truth?

Folks have forgotten the stench of the Clintons.....
Some need that stained blue dress shoved in their face, or be reminded of all the Chinese Communist connections, or the bimbo eruptions, being played for a sucker by Arafat, surrendering to goons in Somalia after Blackhawk down - when we should have leveled the entire freaking city..

But then, I’m just a dumb old man who can’t see the “Big Picture” as I’ve been frequently told....

From the article:
Talbott's global left-wing vision was endorsed personally by President Clinton, who had sent a June 22, 1993, letter to the World Federalist Association (WFA) when it gave Talbott its Norman Cousins Global Governance Award. In the letter, Clinton noted that Cousins, the WFA founder, had "worked for world peace and world government" and that Talbott was a "worthy recipient" of the award. Talbott and Bill Clinton became friends when they were both Rhodes Scholars.

I tracked this group last year. It was preceded by the United World Federalists, changing it's name to WFA, and more recently to Citizens for Global Solutions. Their current website is http://globalsolutions.org

http://www.indiana.edu/~liblilly/lilly/mss/html/uwf.html

UNITED WORLD FEDERALISTS MSS.
The United World Federalists mss., 1928-1988 (bulk 1946-1986), are the inactive office files of the United World Federalists. This organization was founded in Asheville, North Carolina on February 23, 1947 as the result of a merger of five existing world government groups: Americans United for World Government; World Federalists, U.S.A.; Student Federalists; Georgia World Citizens Committee; and the Massachusetts Committee for World Federation. In the mid-1970s it adopted its present name of World Federalist Association.

The World Federalist Association is a non-partisan, non-profit organization with members in forty-eight states. It has 350 chapters in thirty-nine states, a chapter in Hawaii and state-wide branches in twenty-seven states. The primary purpose of the organization is: (1) to achieve permanent peace through universal disarmament enforced by law; (2) to release for the satisfaction of human needs the resources that at present must be used in continuous preparation for war; (3) to maintain and promote human freedom, and to mobilize support for free institutions among all peoples; (4) to secure to all peoples the right to develop according to their own customs and traditions. Based entirely in the United States it is one of the largest member organizations of the World Federalist Movement. While the two organizations work closely together on many programs they are incorporated separately, with separate staffs, headquarters, and governing boards.

We would have been farther ahead if we (our Senate) had just leveled the Clintons, instead of some Somali city.

I’ll buy that, only if you’ll agree to move the Clintons to Mogadishu before we level it.....as we should have..

Clinton changed the mission from “feed the hungry” to punish the outlaws — with neither the armor or force protection measures to get the job done — then ordered a hasty retreat and surrender when the SHTF.

Clinton’s action drove a dagger into the heart of the military....as did his support of the Muslims against the Serbs...

"Senator Richard Lugar - Republican - Indiana"

Ah yes......Senator Lugar another smiling useful idiot...

He even found it difficult to support the appointment of Bolton to his U.N. position!!

Lest we forget ----- the Amnesty NOW Team included both Lugar and Hagel along with McCain...

Our disgraced and discredited Senator Chuck Hagel has been forced to get out of politics, but refuses to behave like the lame duck that he is. From Barbara Anderson at WEBCommentary:

S.2205 was introduced last week by Senators Chuck Hagel (R-NE), Richard Lugar (R-IN), and Dick Durbin. This senate bill grants amnesty to illegal aliens who arrived in the U.S. before the age of sixteen. Although publicized as a help to young students, the bill has no age limits on applicants and no caps as to the numbers. The final goodie is the provision that illegal aliens who are granted amnesty under the bill are eligible for federal financial aid.

We definately should have taken the gloves off and leveled the assetts of every warlord in the region where our troops had trouble, no doubt about it.

Then we should have marched on the lefy big mouths in our nation that urged us to go in for humanitarian reasons.

It’s the same group that hates us for Iraq, yet wants us in Darfur.

Those folks really rub me the wrong way.

I’m hoping Obama the “man for change” has a stake ready to drive through the Clinton legacy’s heart....

Don't kid yourself, the difference between Obama's cabinet and Hillary's would be negligible.

Trust me — I have NO illusions about the Obama “administration” -—— certain it would be an Obamanation.

But I simply hold a faint optimism that the Republic will refuse to elect that bozo Obama to the Presidency -— even if it means voting McCain into the White House, which is all the horror my heart can endure......maybe!

I do wish to see the Clinton legacy’s heart staked....and the coffin lid nailed shut...

The only thing that surprises me about this is that I thought the Clinton administration was a wholly-owned subsidiary of the PRC.
