Former Clinton Official Named as Russian Dupe (Strobe Talbott)
Accuracy in Media ^ | March 04, 2008 | AIM Report

Posted on 03/04/2008 7:45:08 PM PST by river rat

Snip..... In what could be the biggest State Department scandal since State Department official and United Nations founder Alger Hiss was exposed as a Soviet spy, a top Clinton State Department official and former Time magazine journalist has been identified as having been a trusted contact of the Russian intelligence service.

Snip... The sensational charge against Strobe Talbott is made in a new book based on interviews with a Russian defector.

Snip... Talbott has been and continues to be a major foreign policy thinker. Back in 2000, when he was named head of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization, he was described as "a key architect of U.S. foreign policy" during the Clinton years. Talbott now serves as president of the liberal think tank, the Brookings Institution, in Washington, D.C., where he gets paid over $400,000 a year, leads a staff of 277 and presides over an endowment of over $200 million.

Snip.. This is not the first time that Talbott has come under scrutiny for his alleged contacts with agents of a foreign intelligence service. In 1994, when he was being considered for his State Department post in the Clinton Administration, he was grilled by Senator Jesse Helms, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, about his relationship with Victor Louis, a Soviet "journalist" who was actually a Soviet KGB intelligence agent. Talbott had been a young correspondent for Time magazine in Moscow.

Ah, yes, Strobe Talbott is probably getting everything ready to move back to his old offices at State after Hillary’s inauguration. Don’t worry, folks, he’ll take the 3 AM phone calls.

"As long as we have guns it will not come to pass."

It may in terms of social reforms nationally (healthcare reform etc...) and Gov't give aways abroad. Heck, we're already giving Billions and Billions of our dollars to these third world countries only to be ripped off by idiots like Kofi Amin and his son at the UN...

This new revelation raises even more questions about WJC's trip to the Soviet Union while an Oxford student in 1969-70.

IIRC, Talbott was one of Clinton's closest buddies at Oxford.

Kinda puts a whole new spin on the "ready on day one" mantra.

Love the comment made by another Freeper (sorry, can't remember the name) that when asked on day two of her Presidency, what she did on day one - Hitlery would most likely reply "I don't recall".

If Hillary Clinton becomes the nominee, this could give McCain a big issue.

There are many much bigger issues to use against Her Royal Thighness, and many books have already been written about them.

Let's not loose perspective here. Beside, Talbott was more associated with The Great Stainmaker than with Hitlery.

As whether McCain is willing to use any of these scandals to attack HRC, don't hold your breath. Remember that he thinks it's offensive to use Obama's middle name.

The Clintons also PROVED beyond doubt, the ignorance and gullibility of the Democrat base...

Unfortunately for Hillary -— Saint Obama capitalized on that ignorance and gullibility with more outrageous promises and lies than the Clintons felt safe to make...

Obama more accurately understood exactly how ignorant and gullible — and thus reaped the benefit...

Strobe Talbott is a natural born, clueless twit -- which is what makes him such a "useful idiot"....

Thanks for the ping, GGG!

Some reporter needs to pull on this thread, and hard. Talbott is the Rosetta Stone for Clinton’s own unfunded disappearance behind the Iron Curtain while at Oxford.

Good point.

I'm not convinced that Talbott is a "dupe." Someone is only a "dupe" if they don't clearly understand what they're doing...

Sure. Talbott was only a "Russian agent".
Talbott was probably a Soviet Agent forced to continue with Russia/CIS lest his cover be blown.

The socialist democrat heirarchy has not made much effort to hide their desire to bring the U.S. down to a point where we are not the lone world super power. Traitors abound in democrat-dom and the sinkEmperor’s ggons were rif with same. Madhatter Halfbright even stated the desire of the clintoon administration for this. The entire damned crew should have been marched to a side lot and faced firing squads years ago. That they haven’t and continue to enjoy media protection is a sad commentary on how far our once great nation had sunk. The current rodham rodent is just more of the same and her degenerate husband would have more power to mutate this nation from the White HOuse now than he had when he was the (spitooie) president. May God have mercy on us, this nightmare is just beginning!

Wonder what this revelation will do for the Brookings Institution reputation as a self-proclaimed “non partisan” think tank.

Will Talbott be fired?
