ASHKELON, Israel - Residents of this beachside city are still coming to terms with being on the front lines of Israel's battle against Hamas militants.
A dozen long-range rockets slammed into Ashkelon over the weekend, marking a significant turning point in the conflict and compelling Israel to strike back hard.

I assume they can track where the rockets came from.
Flatten it. Continue as needed.
My boss spent last week in Israel. I hope he makes it home OK. No way I would be over there now!
Palestinians have long told Israel that it wants to send Israel into the sea. But Israel has been so slow to believe this. Israel needs to wake up and smell the coffee and take stong steps.
The UN Secy Gen spoke against Hamas. That’s novel coming from the UN.
I am headed there soon myself. Promised the Shewolf not to go if there is active fighting or the reserves have been called up.
I don’t go anywhere near Gaza or the West Bank. Soon that may not matter

Boy I guess that really scared the hell out of the Hamas.
(not)

Israel has had to NOT retaliate because of world and US calls for restraint....
the time is over...Israel needs to tell the world and US to STFU and carpet bomb these f’n muzzie terrorist animals!!!!
This is not the case. The international "community" won't let Israel defend itself unless things get really bad. Everytime Israel makes an appropriate preemtive strike, the Hamas lovers go into whine mode.
The carefully aimed, free rockets dropped amongst the civilian populace I assume? So why are the Palis screaming about how the Israeli attack is killing civilians?
Oh, please! I was there during the height of the Intifada during the summer of 2001. If it weren't for the newspapers, one wouldn't have had a clue that there was anything going on. (Except for the relative lack of tourists) In the three weeks I was there there was one incident ten miles away from where I was at the time. If you draw a ten mile radius around the center of the universe here in northern NJ, I can assure you that during the next three weeks something bad will happen to an unsuspecting citizen in that circle. What we consider regular crime is virtually nonexistent in Israel.

My wife and I will be there in May, we will be fine, as your boss will be.
Oh come on, take your wife. if G-d can’t protect you there, where can he protect you? I took my wife over the first time (for her) in 2002 and drove her crazy with my concerns. Finally, she told me the same thing that I say to you—she understands the risk. We had a restaurant blow up a couple of blocks away, but we survived fine. The truth is, SUPPORT ISRAEL, and don’t let the terrorists win. We will be there in May and June, so hope to see you there!
The Isreali’s are very brave.
STRIKE BACK ISRAEL! To hell with the “International community”, they will get you killed for sure if you wait on them or abide by their resolutions. Americans like a winner and we know that you are just that, strike while the iron is hot, take the fight and justice to your enemy and don’t wait for our politicians either...
She went in Nov, may come on the June trip
Good for you both...I have lived in Israel and go back every year (G-d willing.) I can’t tell you the number of times that we made reservations, and then somthing happened, and by the time we went everything was fine...I would say to you and your wife, Kol ha Kavod.
