Hello all,

Neil Peterson and Ron Erhardt are the two MN representatives from District 41 (Edina / W. Bloomington) who voted to over-ride Gov. Pawlenty’s veto of the $6.6 billion transportation bill. The first opportunity for grassroots retaliation is during the Republican District Convention on March 8th in Edina.

After doing some checking with state and district party officials, I am not aware of any coordinated effort to align convention delegates beforehand to show a strong repudiation of these two representatives. The most I have heard is that Ron Carey may show up and try to convince delegates at the convention.

I would like to have delegates a little more organized before that. After some thought, I decided one way to do this is to create a Google group where delegates (and other interested parties) could check in and begin communicating with each other.

Here’s where Freepers can help me out:

a) To start with it would be nice for any freepers to simply join the group to give it a decent population number and some activity – District delegates will be less “afraid” to join if the group is already heavily populated.

b) If you know any delegates or alternates in District 41, especially ones torqued off by the votes made by these two reps, please point them in the direction of this group.

c) If you have any good, relevant info or buzz on District 41 activities, please pass it along, either to me here, or on the group page.

I will attempt to keep the group page up to date and relevant as often as possible. I promise not to use the group for future spamming or anything like that. Hopefully with a large enough membership, it will take off by itself and turn into the communication tool I am hoping for. Please note that I’m trying to keep the group page relatively bland so as to not scare away timid activists.
