Obama Stirs Ill Wind on Wall Street
Real Clear Markets ^ | 02/29/2008 | Larry Kudlow

Sen. Barack Obama is very gloomy about America, and he's aligning himself with the liberal wing of the Democratic Party in hopes of coming to the nation's rescue. His proposal? Big-government planning, spending and taxing — exactly what the nation and the stock market don't want to hear.

Obama unveiled much of his economic strategy in Wisconsin: He wants to spend $150 billion on a green-energy plan. He wants to establish an infrastructure investment bank to the tune of $60 billion. He wants to expand health insurance by roughly $65 billion. He wants to "reopen" trade deals, which is another way of saying he wants to raise the barriers to free trade

The Obama spend-o-meter is now up around $800 billion. And tax hikes on the rich won't pay for it.

HAHA! This hyper socialist is going down fast! As soon as anything with substance is put forth, he can’t hide anymore as all things to all people.

Fundamentally incorrect.
Obama is part of the liberal wing of the party to begin with.

He has not aligned himself there from another position.

Depends on how fast the credit market recovers and inflation gets under control. American people become more like socialists when the economy is in a downturn.

If Wall Street could remain clean and ethical they could much easier fight off this crap.

Hey, it is called be every thing to everyone and get their vote and then go with the flow. I’m telling you, we have one empty suit here, just like Bill Clinton in 1992!

It's not Wall Street we have to worry about, they'll look after themselves.

It's the self-employed middle-class - yes, even the doctors and attorneys with the Obama 08 bumper stickers - who are going to get zapped by removal of the ceiling on FICA. There's an approx. 12% additional income tax right there. That tax increase should be striking fear out their in the 'burbs, let's see if Mac can figure it out in time.

From this link.....

Who Pays America's Tax Burden, and Who Gets the Most Government Spending?

Overall, we find that America's lowest-earning one-fifth of households received roughly $8.21 in government spending for each dollar of taxes paid in 2004. Households with middle-incomes received $1.30 per tax dollar, and America's highest-earning households received $0.41. Government spending targeted at the lowest-earning 60 percent of U.S. households is larger than what they paid in federal, state and local taxes. In 2004, between $1.03 trillion and $1.53 trillion was redistributed downward from the two highest income quintiles to the three lowest income quintiles through government taxes and spending policy.

I think Mac will. Who wants an Obama crowd or a Clinto crowd in the White House babbling their nonsense everyday for the next 4 years?

This guy will be lucky to get 40% of the vote in the general election. And no, the so-called “youth” vote will not get obama into the whitehouse. The Marxist media drags out the “youth” vote every election as the mythical white knight that will slay the conservative dragon.

If we had a decent conservative running, we would see a result equal to Reagan’s ‘84 landslide.

I agree. Living in or near a big east coast city most of my life I know for a fact how Democrats split over race. A open minded "liberal" pro abortion friend of my wife told me, "I already have a black mayor, I don't want a black president." Add in his extreme left views and you have a landslide.

Sorry, I misread the headline. I thought it said, “Obama breaks wind on Wall Street (and his adoring public applauds)”
