3 Cities Fighting Hygiene Battle With Muslim Hospital Workers

Muslim medical workers in three major English cities are balking at hospital hygiene rules such as rolling up their sleeves when they scrub for surgery, according to The Daily Mail.
Health officials have been ready to wash their hands of the dispute, but at least one hospital is bending to the requests.
Female med students and staff at hospitals in at least a trio of large British cities — Liverpool, Leicester and Sheffield — have continued to flat-out refuse to comply with regulations aimed at fending off germs and infections, the Mail reported, with some saying they'd rather quit than expose their arms.
The workers object on the grounds that showing their forearms is immodest for women who practice Islam and against their religion. Hygiene gurus insist that no exceptions should be made for religious or other reasons.
But Alder Hey children's hospital in Liverpool said that though there are certain non-negotiable rules, it is attempting to work with Muslim students to find a solution.
"We specify bare below elbows, no wrist watches, nail varnish or false nails in clinical areas," Steve Ryan, Alder Hey's medical director, told the Mail. "Good hand hygiene is one of the most important and simplest actions we can take to prevent health care-associated infections."

That’s why no one wants to go to a muslim hospital in the third world. All the good nurses are Catholic.
If you can’t do the work, you can’t stay in the job. Period.
I don’t care what your religion is, but if that religion comes into conflict with the duties of your job, you need to make a hard choice.
No special treatment, no exemptions. Do your job or find another one more suitable to your faith. It’s really very simple.
If they’d rather quit than expose their forearms to meet the basic hygiene standards of the medical profession, then let them quit.
I agree...FIRE THEM!!! Unfortunately, (no longer Great) Britain is paralyzed by political correctness. They also have a thing against using handwashing solutions which contain alcohol.......
How much simpler could the solution be?
I think they should be flogged, stoned and hung on public display.

Quit? Why haven’t they already been fired? And, deported to some country more in keeping with their seventh century views?

Unfortunately, some people do not want to live in a multi-cultural world. They are determined to maintain their level of ignorance and are eager to eliminate any lifestyle that doesn’t correspond with their world view. Anti-hijab regimes, bigots, and many others fall into this category.
What is the freaking problem? Fire them all and fill their places with ultra-Orthodox Jewish women.
Let’s just turn back the clock and practice medicine they way they did in the good old Muslim times in the 7th century - at least we won’t offend anyone’s modesty.
A hospital here had a Muslim who refused to clean up- he was canned immediately.
