I just got back from the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C., where conservatives began lining up behind a man who’s been sticking it to us for years. By a process of self-hypnosis, many have managed to convince themselves that McCain is actually one of us.
Not for nothing did Benjamin Disraeli call conservatives the stupid party.
What part of John McCain do we not get? McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Edwards -- among other socialist, anti-speech, open-borders, enviro-Marxist measures he’s co-sponsored with the hardcore left of the Democratic Party over the years.
If Il Duce had served with him in the United States Senate, there would be McCain-Mussolini.

Great idea. Don’t vote or get involved this year and the Conservative Movement will become that much more irrelevant. Face it, Fellow Freepers, we LOST in the primaries AND ITS OUR FAULT. Hunter, Tancredo, Brownback, Thompson, et al, should have had funding to match Hillary and millions of volunteers. I can only conclude that conservatives don’t care enough to win. We are important and influential in the Republican Party WHEN WE CONTRIBUTE FINANCIALLY OR OTHERWISE. McCain is not my choice, but either Hillary or Obama will destroy our country. I will do what I can to prevent that.

Frankly, the best thing the GOP jerks could do is start planning the funeral arrangements and starting the McCain Presidential Library - could be housed in a FEMA trailer and still have space left over for a poor ravaged moronic NO family to shiver together in the hovel!

I think I will vote for McCaine, but also will start contributing to individual conservative GOP congressional candidates that we will need to keep under control on immigration, and other domestic policies.

At some point, with the way the GOP compromises DOWN consistently on Principle, Hitlery will look “conservative”. Today JFK looks “conservative”. We keep defining down conservatism till it’s like splitting hairs in trying to explain why it’s not vote pandering LIBERALISM. I don't see LIBERALS doing this - nope! They are tenacious. They know they can vilify conservatives and get satisfaction in INCREMENTS IF they have to compromise. Liberals KNOW they will get their way.
My point was that Don is late in that the time to not vote for McCain was the primary. My opinion is we lost it in S. Carolina.
Now that McCain has the nomination, it’s a bit late to be telling us not to vote for him.

Let me give you an example of the guts and determination that make conservatives win. Steve Stockman had 2,000 volunteers working for him despite having very limited funds. For a time, he put out his own newspaper and became the biggest publisher in Galveston County, Texas. He put Poll Watchers in many dim precincts to combat fraud. He BEAT Jack Brooks who had been in Congress for 40 years and had a huge democratic party machine backing him. Steve Stockman sacrificed everything to knock Brooks out of power. Is anyone here that motivated?
Since my son, nephew, niece, a cousin (presently in Iraq) have either been to or will be returning to Iraq, I will not cast a vote that will guarantee they be left in the cold by either the Bitch or the traitor (of which applies to them both). While McCain is not IMHO the best choice for a GOP nominee, he beats the hell out of what the DimocRATS have going.
My son at the Naval Academy wants McCain as his CIC. I will vote for him for that reason alone. He cannot even think about a President Clinton or a President Obama.

McCain is no different from Hillary or Obama. All of them are unfit to be POTUS. I'll vote 3rd Party.

For the same reasons you give- I cannot ever vote for Clinton or Obama. The thought of our military under their command should give every conservative something to think long and hard about. The detestable McCain is better than either of the libs.

If we just fall in behind McCain now like wimps, we guarantee a President Obama or a President Billary.
Someone in the GOP elites better realize that McCain unbridled is a major loser, and we conservatives are not coming to the rescue this time.
