They're going to town on Corzine

The governor never tires of telling us that he grew up on a farm.

Gee, who'da thunk it?

Well, me for one. Over the course of these "town meetings" on his multibillion-dollar toll-and- spend scheme, our governor has undergone a personality change. The first few sessions featured docile crowds that were willing to sit back and absorb the wisdom of a Wall Street whiz who spoke with great authority on matters of high finance. But once the crowds wised up, Gov. Jon Corzine started to look like the bumbler he was when he first entered politics eight years ago.

The lovefest was clearly over by the time the former farm boy made a trip to the Jersey Shore. A crowd in Toms River booed and shouted throughout his presentation. The results weren't much better in Monmouth County a few nights later. This was a tough crowd. When Corzine talked about the need to raise money to fund care for the developmentally disabled, he no doubt expected to generate the same warm, fuzzy feeling that such a cause generated in prior audiences.

"Stop the scare tactics!" some guy yelled as a chorus of boos arose.

And when the governor remarked that the Garden State Parkway needs widening because its southern section is "one of the most dangerous roads in the coun try," one guy yelled, "You know it!" This was a clear reference to Cor zine's near-fatal accident on that stretch of road last year. Prior crowds had evinced sympathy. This crowd burst out into applause and laughter.

Gee, looks like the peasants don't like Corzine's turnpike plan. Back to the drawing boards. Maybe he could cut some spending?

Jersey hasn’t seen the half of it yet.

There’s no limit to how much a Democrat will tax you to “do good” for you.

I’m voting for Hillary not because of McCain but because I want Corzine to join her administration and leave New Jersey!

A Democrat can be seen live on TV sexually abusing 3 year-olds and new Jerseyans will vote for... a Democrat replacement over a Republican’t. George W. Bush can cure cancer, and he would only get 43% tops in this state.

Yes, it’s just like the crooked Louisiana Democrat (I realize that is redundant) who said he couldn’t be defeated in an election unless he were caught in bed with a dead woman or a live boy.

"One lifetime resident of Monmouth County informed the governor that the only reason New Jersey voters approved the Parkway bonds back in the 1950s was that they were assured the tolls would be removed when the bonds were paid off."

Same thing was promised here in New York State with the thruway. The tolls just went up again and are slated for more increases since Spitzer took office.

There’s no limit to how much a Democrat will tax you to “do good” for you.

According to a liberal, the only purposes of government are to:

1. "Do good" for "the people".

2. Redistribute income.

3. Exercise power.

Well, actually, there's only one purpose. #3.

Yeah, but I believe whatshername, Bush's original idiot EPA appointee, raised taxes too, as RINO governor of NJ.

Christie Todd Whitman?

This story could be true for a lot of governors and their constituents. Special interests, big money, and mass media have separated the common everyday rank in file voter from his party and from the candidates. Proximire won his last Senate term without raising any money, what a concept, candidate trust voters and voters trust candidate. No need to buy media, then poll, market, and spin who you are and what you stand for.

MA had the same "deal". When the bonds were going to be paid off, the authority went on a spending spree, thanks to the wizards of Wall Street, and issued more bonds.

They preserved their own jobs, as well as the solons' ability to auction off new job openings to deadbeat relatives.

Please don’t blame Ocean and Monmouth County, where these two hearings took place. Ocean is a solidly red county, and Monmouth is usually one. Most of the people in these counties use the Parkway everyday to commute, so it will be our pocketbooks taking the big hit. Many years ago, there was talk of a secessionist movement for South Jersey, maybe it is a topic that should start getting talked about again.

"Stop the scare tactics!" some guy yelled as a chorus of boos arose.

Quite seriously, as the level of public behavior and political discourse degrade further and further into the abyss, politician may start fearing for their lives. The aggression that many people have become more and more comfortable showing after generations of breeding and fostering sociopaths in our educational system is slowly yielding a very harsh payback towards those who enabled the decline.

I won't shed a tear when the riots start.
