But critics said it was depressing that it would not be the default design on the tails side of a British circulation coin for the first time since 1672.
Placing Britannia in a Burkha for awhile is more important than maintaining an unbroken tradition, I suppose......
Death of the West watch...
He really, underneath it all, hates his country, doesn’t he? An entire class of people have somehow gotten into office who hate Britain and all she stood for. I’m not conspiracy-minded, but I could be convinced.
The pathological impulse of “progressives” is to run around fixing things that aren’t broken.
Doing it so Muslim man will be able to use the coins?
Depressing? It's a damn shame.
ROFL - I love that coin with the spy-on-your-citizenry camera on it. :-)
Gordon Brown is making Tony Blair look like Margaret Thatcher.
It’s important to destroy the cultural artifacts of western civilization in order to form a more compliant society. Only the indigenous peoples of third world countries are allowed to retain their culture, even when they move to a first world western nation. We’re being “harmonized”. ;)
Rise Britannia to be replaced with Rise Islamia.
DON'T ACCEPT THE NEW COINS!!!
It works for us.
The various ritual obituaries to Britian on this thread would be rather more convincing if the Queen’s head had been dropped - it hasn’t, and remains on all coins, where it is required by statute. The article is also rather disingenuous. For many years Britannia has been replaced on the obverse of various coins by a variety of other symbols and images. The only difference here is that for the first time this will happen on all the denominations of coin at the same time. Carry on with your work, lads, not a revolution.
Good gad.
