General Jerry Ralph Curry served 34 years in the U.S. Army, and how, at the age of 76, he wants to be president. He is one of the 18 candidates on Oklahoma's Feb.5 presidential primary ballot.
In a face-to-face encounter, Curry looks like a man in his 50s. The son of a steelworker, Curry enlisted in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Starting as a buck private, he embarked on a career that left him a major general. Curry has mixed African, European and American Indian ancestry.

Maj. Gen Jerry Curry was just on Fox & Friends where he announced his bid for Presidency as the "only" conservative in the Republican field.

Seems like a great man. What took him so long?
On the other hand, he is 76 years old.
Also, the headline should have mentioned he is a “retired” Maj. General.

If he were serious he would have announced when everyone else did. This guy will be at most a distraction. He is 76 for goodness sakes. Nobody will take him serious.
To: Rock&RollRepublican
Just saw him on Fox. I had never heard of him.

If he can get on the New York ballot, I’ll give the man a long hard look. It won’t take much considering the alternatives.

If he were serious he would have announced when everyone else did.My thoughts exactly.
Although it is interesting, his decision seems motivated more as a means to stick it in the face of the GOP for "not having a conservative" in the race.
Well heck, like you said, he should have run months ago.
Instead, he will just grab votes from a SERIOUS candidate ... and likely help the liberals in the end.

76? I don’t know. That may be a bit too long in the tooth, even for me.

The current field should not be taken seriously.

I quickly scanned his websites. He sounds interesting and certainly more to the right than most of the current contenders.
But, as others have posted, his age is a negative.
I don’t see his candidacy getting much traction. Too bad he isn’t about 10-15 years or so younger.

IMHO, the man is just trying to make a point--all the Republican candidates suck!
He may be 76 years old--but seems pretty bright to me.

I'll give him a week to see what developes. If I can find any info pertaining to his ability to be president, I'll post it.
There may be some clever strategery goin' on here, as well ... if Hunter had waited a bit, he might have gotten more traction, been present at more 'debates' and we'd be able to better judge (and contribute to) the man.
Welcome Maj. Gen. .... we do need a good man.

I also think that Fred pulled out too early. He should have waited until Super Tuesday to make a decision.

Is this “General” related to Henry Krajewski, pig farmer and past perpetual Presidential candidate from Secaucus, N.J.?

I wish he had waited, but it's my understanding that his mother is ill.

He's going to split the elderly vote with McCain! McCain is finished!

At 76, he is clearly out of touch with reality. It’s a shame for someone with such a distinguished background.
To: trisham
Oh, sorry tp hear that. I hope his mother’s health improves.
