It is very sad and maddening that here we are, 6+ years after the attack and we still cannot even agree on an appropriate memorial (thanks to crackpot libs and politicians).

Personally, I like the lights and think they should be a permanent part of any memorial.

Even more maddening and embarrassing and shameful is that the place remained a hole in the ground for almost five years after the attack. As soon as the debris was cleared they should have started rebuilding there bigger and better than what was there before. But we piddled and moped around for almost five years before finally deciding on what to build there.
