If there was mischief with the trials, then that is bad. However, let’s not turn this into an “anti-depressants don’t really work” tirade. Believe me, they do.
Thank you.
I find this thread very depressing.
It also seems to be a safe one.
How long before they makes these illegal?
Anti-depressants don’t really work.
My own experience with Zoloft is that it took the edge off of the despair. There was a numbing effect, and say what you will about being numb but there are times of excruciating tragedy where you’re just trying to get through the day, and any lessening of your pain is welcome.
I dated a woman on anti-depressants for a year - Jeckel and Hyde and never again.
Anti-depressants work really well- till they stop working. I say this on every anti-depressant thread I come on, but don’t start (and, for heaven’s sake, certainly don’t STOP) any anti-depressant regimen without googling “ssri withdrawal” first. This is something doctors don’t mention that patients need to know about.
I’ve been running across a lot of people lately that I’m sure are on that stuff. Do they tend to become quite self-absorbed? And talk a LOT? And never seem to say much? And take FOREVER to tell a simple story? And do they lose quite a few IQ points? And they become boring?
I really want to know what you think.
she is great at her job with raises and promotions but soon as she leaves work it's "who cares..."
my boss/his boss are who cares at work, and yes they talk more sh!t than a little bit and it was amusing sometimes to see them get lost in their train of rant
or even better, was seeing the division head talking to me in a meeting one day while playing with some damn new toy he had on his desk and simply got lost into playing with the toy(one of these magnet toys) so i just let him play to see how long it would take but the secretary knocked on the door and snapped him out of it but it had been going on three minutes.

FReepmail me if you want on or off my health and science ping list.
Thanks for responding. I guess I’m seeing something different because “who cares” is not their attitude. I wish.
Thanks for the link.
Anything in the story about St. John’s Wort? :’) Thanks neverdem.
“dont STOP) any anti-depressant regimen without googling ssri withdrawal first. This is something doctors dont mention that patients need to know about.”
This is so true. Had a relative who stopped without telling anyone and she took her own life and the life of her beloved dog.
Doc didn’t warn her and it is truly such a sad situation in our lives.
Three moths after she died, the FDA came out with its first warning on antidepressants.
ANYONE YOU KNOW ON THEM OR IF THEY ARE GETTING OFF THEM, PLEASE, PLEASE WATCH CAREFULLY.
Here are a few of the effects on withdrawal:
The withdrawal reaction which may be seen within 8-hours in some people (occasionally necessitating q.i.d. administration of paroxetine or venlafaxine) often includes:
anxiety
dizziness
fatigue
headache
insomnia
nausea
restlessness
tremors
visual hallucinations/illusions.
Here is a forum I have followed for years of people trying to get off effexor.
