The comment came during an interview with CNN this morning.
I’m not going to rant about this. I will point out that Huckabee’s position doesn’t square up well with the Constitution’s amendment process — a process laid out precisely because it ought to be difficult to change the Constitution, but change is sometimes necessary, and it’s necessary because the Constitution isn’t a living, breathing document. If it were, as the proponents of that understanding tend to believe, you can find meanings in the penumbras of what’s actually written, meanings that might in fact be at odds with the plain understanding of the words themselves, without having to amend the document to find the new meaning therein. And I will also point out that the “living, breathing document” argument regarding the Constitution comes not from conservative or constructionist thinking, but from the left.

Huckabee's own website contradicts him. "I firmly believe that the Constitution must be interpreted according to its original meaning, and flatly reject the notion of a “living Constitution.”"
So who’s lying here? Him or his website?
Does this guy ever have a clear opinion on anything?
More of Huckabee telling people what he thinks they want to hear. The website is one audience, and a CNN audience is another.
This guy get worse every day.
I suspect Huckabee has no strong feelings on the Constitution or strict construction. I suppose the only thing he feels strongly about is that Mike Huckabee should be President of the United States, and does not concern himself much with the "why".
The man is dangerous.

Anybody who really supports Mike Huckabee should have the strength of conviction to write his name in for the Democrat nomination.
If this doesn’t frighten the hell out of every Freeper in regards to the latest Dope from Hope, NOTHING WILL.

Well, since the Constitution is "living and breathing", I guess it will not have to be amended in order to bring it into compliance with God's law. That should be a real time saver, once President Huckabee assumes office.
