Yes, it plays them and upgrades them to hi-def. I know that sounds iffy, but it truly does provide an excellent picture. I was pleasantly surprised. And now I’m not desparate to go out and purchase the new format Blue Ray discs at the elevated price.
My old DVD collection looks great on my 1920 by 1080 screen, and they do fill the whole screen. Woopie... LOL

Any bets on when real 3-D technology becomes available? Not the kind with hokey special glasses, but some kind of a miniature stage in your living room with 3-D actors in 3-D settings. That will make all previous video players and formats obsolete overnight.
2015 when everything is digital, and some bright optical engineer connects with a huge corporate conglomerate, with deep pockets, to make it happen
My friend just used this as a good excuse to buy a PS3. He already has an Xbox 360 so he’s sitting pretty . for now.
