Mike Huckabee is being backed by a bizarre upstate group that has been denounced as a cult, The Post has learned.

Records show Huckabee raked in $20,000 from Sara Bronfman, the Seagram liquor heiress and high-profile devotee of the NXIVM group.

While I'm not a Huckabee supporter, I'm a "Fredhead", I think this is a little bit of a cheap shot and a "misleading" use of the word "Cult".

Is there anyone else out there who agrees with me?

It is a pretty cheap shot, especially since the biggest cult that is wildly supporting the Huckster is the New York Times.

You think that ‘Mojo’ reference someone used last night really did have dual meaning? When you pinged me to it, the first thing I thought of was how that dog was killed.

Since this isn’t the first time I saw the misuse of that type of word with Huckabee, I will sit back and see if it is a cheap shot or intentional.

What does the New York Post have to say about Romney and his affiliation with an organization known by many as “a cult,” I wonder?

This doesn’t actually say that Huckabee is a cultist, but that Keith Raniere is. Or at least a con artist with cultlike effects on his followers.

I found this article on him and his organization:

http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2003/1013/088.html

The fact that one of Raniere’s followers donated to Huckabee is used to imply that Huckabee has some connection to Raniere. And they were fellow Arkansans. It would take more than one campaign donation to establish that, I think, but it does raise a possibility that deserves further investigation.

Meantime, I have plenty enough reasons already not to like Huckabee.

You said — “Is there anyone else out there who agrees with me?”

Yes, it’s done that way to offset the negative connotations of the *real cult* religion of Mormonism (i.e., Romney) which is a non-Christian cult group, from its teachings and doctrines.

Christians who adhere to the basic, historical and foundational teachings and doctrines of Christianity will easily identify the Mormon teachings and doctrines as a “non-Christian cult” (no matter the extreme effort made by the Mormon church to identify itself with Christianity, while at the very same time, denying all those basic, historic and foundational doctrines of Christianity).

So, that kind of statement (from that article) is a methodology to blunt the “cult criticism” of Christians (who do adhere to the basic, historic and foundational teachings and doctrines of Christianity) — by claiming the “cult status” (a different usage of the word) of Huckabee supporters.

I’m personally not a supporter of the “candidate” himself. I am waiting to see how a lot of this pans out before “getting on board” with anyone. However, I can see that this is what that article is trying to do, and not using the word “cult” in the same manner as the usage in terms of a “non-Christian cult” — which is a fairly precise definition.

I’m supporting DH but yeah I agree. If a person don’t agree with someone nowdays, it’s “racist”, “hate”, intolerant”, “cult” etc.

You asked — “What does the New York Post have to say about Romney and his affiliation with an organization known by many as “a cult,” I wonder?”

Well, if the NY Post doesn’t work to make the distinction between a candidate (himself) who is a *definite adherent* of a “non-Christian cult group” (i.e., the Mormon church) in terms of the definition from basic, historic and foundational Christianity — then they are making a play for confusion and not for educating the public about what is going on in “each case” (that is, Romney’s position as an actual member of a cult group, versus Huckabee, who has a potentially-identified supporter who is (or may be) a cult group member).

There does seem to be a definite difference between the two...

In October, the same NY Post writer reported, using a similar headline, that NXIVM members had donated $30,000 to Hillary’s campaign. So they’re not singling out Huckabee. Now whether or not Huckabee was aware of the donors’ connection is not clear.

What does it matter that the Huckster says he is a good Christian and pro-life when Huckabee will turn the U.S,. into a socialist state where we will all be starving?

I believe the Huckster doesn't even believe in God since he lies so much and twists the bible so much to justify his Marxist ideology. This guy is a Marxist and like practically all Marxists he is an atheist.

Huckabee Caught Lying About His Tax Hikes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYrGlfkvRV0&feature=related

Huckabee is a pro-illegal, pro-Amnesty, tax raising, big government loving, socialist/liberal, violent criminal pardoning, terrorist appeasing, false prophet. In other words Huckabee is really a Democrat.

Under no circumstances will I ever vote for this liberal/communist con man.

The Huckster Huckabee or Hillary will let in hundreds of millions of 3rd world socialist illegals.

The Huckster or Hillary will surrender to Iran and let Iran build a nuclear arsenal.

The Huckster or Hillary will raise taxes and increase the size of government putting the U.S. on the road to socialism which will destroy our way of life, destroy our economy, destroy our civilization.

If you think I'm exaggerating look at Huckabee's record and into the dangers of socialism.

But hey , the idiot Huckster lies and says he is pro-life so that makes all of this ok huh?
