Conservative State Leader Supporting Thompson

MCLEAN, Virginia, Dec. 28 /Standard Newswire/ -- Today Iowa State Representative Gary Worthan announced his support of Fred Thompson for President of the United States. Representative Worthan joins a strong Thompson organization in Iowa already in place and headed by Iowa State Chair Congressman Steve King and Co-Chairs Representative Kraig Paulsen and Representative Sandy Greiner.

"I've been impressed with Fred's ability to boil the issues down to the essential items, without a lot of hyperbole," stated Representative Worthan. "He just plain tells the truth. We're in a long hard struggle and there are no easy answers like some of the other candidates are coming with."

Gary Worthan represents the conservative 52nd District, serving Buena Vista and Sac Counties. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2007, when he won a special election to replace the deceased Mary Lou Freeman. Worthan currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - Agriculture, Public Safety, Transportation and Veterans Affairs. He also serves on the Administration and Regulation Appropriations Subcommittee. Representative Worthan has three sons. His oldest son Ryan is a Major in the Army and earned a Silver Star for serving in Afghanistan and two Bronze Stars for serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Shannon is a Captain in the Army and earned a Bronze Star in Iraq.

"I am pleased to have the support of Representative Gary Worthan," said Senator Thompson. "I admire his leadership in the Iowa General Assembly and his commitment to conservative principles. Representative Worthan understands the increasing challenges we are facing as a nation both domestically and internationally and the need for strong consistent conservative leadership."

Fred Thompson's Iowa Statewide Legislative Leadership team includes:

U.S. Congressman Steve King, State Chair State Representative Kraig Paulsen, Co-Chair State Representative Sandy Greiner, Co-Chair State Representative Clel Baudler Former State Senator Bob Brunkhorst State Representative Royd Chambers State Representative Jeff Kaufmann State Representative Jamie Van Fossen State Representative Gary Worthan

Go FRed Go!

He has some organizational people in Iowa backing him, no doubt about it. There are a few dingdongs on this site claiming he doesn’t have the organization but when it comes down to it, his apparatus is better than anyone elses when the names are laid out.

A few?

You generous devil you!

There are scores of them....each certain they're exquisitely clever for repeating DBM memes like "lazy" and "fire in the belly."

There are a number sucked into the MSM narrative that was written months ago and they are too thick to realize it.

Most are your basic rino Republicans hanging out on a “Conservative” website.

Another endorsement! Great! It is also good to see the fund raising goal for Fred is almost reached! I just hope that every Fred supporter who has not donated will try to at least give whatever they can to help Fred now when he really needs it. No matter how little the donation, every little bit helps too! Fred is the first candidate that I have donated to. I have often volunteered my time to help in various candidate campaigns, but never actually donated cash to any candidate. I hope others who have never donated but really want to see Fred win will make a donation. GO FRED! :)

Folks,

Remember this time and place.

I am going out on a limb here, IMHO Fred is our next President.

It was those on the "Freep" that noticed him 1st and helped via $ or time. (No moderator this is not a solicitation, take a chill pill please...).

You have changed the course of history.

We, the fed up with The Gang of 14, Harriet Miers, Dubai Ports, The Border and Hastert's Spending, have sent a message.

We want our part of Reagan Conservatism back.

We are taking our Party back, we have always been proud to call ourselves Conservatives, we want to be able to call ourselves Republicans Again.

WE will not let the Dominant Media shove a RINO down our throats!

The Sunday Talks Shows and the Blathering Class will not know what hit them!

Committed conservatives will vote for Fred (or Hunter). Those who are only occasionally conservative or conservative out of convenience will vote for one of the RINOs because their commitment to conservative ideals is only skin deep.

Exactly. Fred has an exceptionally strong team, and his endorsements are solid, solid, solid. While never wavering in my support for Fred, I have to admit the past couple of months were a bit depressing. For the past two weeks, however, I've been getting more and more excited. Fred is going to be strong in Iowa. I don't know if he'll win it outright, but he will definitely make the solid 3rd-place showing that it has been said he needs to stay afloat. I will not be surprised to see him place a strong 2nd, displacing Romney - probably through soft-support votes coming back home from Huckabee.

Well, I’m certainly wity you on this! Let it be so! We should know that when the MSM starts chanting their usual mantras, it’s not based on anything solid, it’s what they’re trying to twist to fit their agendas.

Not to brag, but I noticed FDT years ago, and wished he'd run for President, and was one of the first on the Fredmobile when the rumblings began that he'd be entering the race.

This is nothing compared to the endorsement Willard got today.

He now has the full support of Flip Wilson!

Cincinnatus,

If I think about it, I sensed it eons ago to but it faded.

Remember when he gave the response to Clinton for the State of the Union Speech in the 94'-96' timeframe siting sideways on the desk?

We could have had Fred instead of Dole.....
