Out of Control: AIDS and the corruption of medical science (a must read)
Harper's Magazine ^ | March 2006 | Celia Farber

Posted on 12/16/2007 6:00:09 PM PST by GodGunsGuts

...Regardless of whether Duesberg is right about HIV, his case, like Fishbein's, lays bare the political machinery of American science, and reveals its reflexive hostility to ideas that challenge the dominant paradigm. Such hostility is not unusual in the history of science, but the contemporary situation is dramatically different from those faced by maverick scientists in the past. Today's scientists are almost wholly dependent upon the goodwill of government researchers and powerful peer-review boards, who control a financial network binding together the National Institutes of Health, academia, and the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Many scientists live in fear of losing their funding. “Nobody is safe,” one NIH-funded researcher told me. “The scientific-medical complex is a $2 trillion industry,” says former drug developer Dr. David Rasnick, who now works on nutrition-based AIDS programs in Pretoria, South Africa. “You can buy a tremendous amount of consensus for that kind of money.”

You have to write a grant a year almost. And you have to write four to get one, if you're any good. I got out just in time. Everybody who's still in there says the same thing,” says Berkeley's Strohman. “Before the biotech boom, we never had this incessant urging to produce something useful, meaning profitable. Everybody is caught up in it. Grants, millions of dollars flowing into laboratories, careers and stars being made. The only way to be a successful scientist today is to follow consensus. If you're going to produce something and put it on the market you don't want any goddamn surprises. You've got the next quarter to report and you don't want any bad news. It's all about the short term now. Science has totally capitulated to corporate interests. Given their power and money, it's going to be very hard to work our way out of this.”...

Regardless of whether Duesberg is right

He is on the right track.
The whole AIDS story stinks from day 1. To connect having Sex on the one side and then getting a deadly disease was just to good to be true and used by a lot of Groups.
The sad story is, that mistake will never be admitted, it would be the biggest Hoax ever imposed on the human Species and its social order.

==The sad story is, that mistake will never be admitted

You are quite right. The mistake will never be admitted...it needs to be exposed. And it will, if the conservative movement ever seriously gets a hold of it!

“the anti-human agenda driving global warming”

Yes, and the same non-profit social-engineering billionaires (Soros, Buffet, Gates, etc.) can’t wait to keep funding the academic/non-profit/political pipeline with more of their wish list. This is a huge onion that needs to be peeled back. You throw enough money at an entire industry at the feeder stage and you can force society down the path you desire. I know David Horowitz has started to track some of the people and institutions at “discoverthenetwork.org”, but this is a huge task.

Want to know why nobody builds the fence to secure our borders, why our elected politicians ignore us, why Al Gore and crew want to annex the economy to save the world from climate change? Follow the money and see who benefits from checking off those boxes. At least the public would be on a level playing field if this was well known vs. always behind the next great cause that gets sneaked through at midnight in Congress.

I just find it interesting that I post conservative articles re: AIDS and you post gay/liberal articles.

What is conservative about Ralph Naderism and anti-capitalism?

Notice how AIDS cases almost perfectly parallel the drug epidemic (both on the way up and on the way down). Also notice that even as the rate of HIV infection remained constant, the number of AIDS cases were steadily rising. Again, which hypothesis offers the better explanation???

That’s what I’m asking you! Why do you keep posting all these hard-left/gay sources to disprove Duesberg?

Yet further proof that the “War on AIDS” is driven by politics, not science.

"GGG's creed is blatently anti-capitalist. It is Ralph Naderism at its finest. Big corporations are evil. Little guys who peddle vitamins and coffee enemas are good. It is so 1968"

No bigger lie has ever been posted. Your post is loaded with misdirection and false assumption. Where is Nader on AIDS? Surely not on the side of prolonging life, where GGG is. What is anti-capital about using sound, natural medicine that is proven to work, rather than Big Pharma's scam poisons? Do you prefer to enhance liars over honest businesses?

You are poised to take over for Dan Blather and Mary Mapes with this screed. You've all the earmarks of a propagandist here, and this post tops them all.

“”Too much of what passes for science these days is mere statistical correlation, not cause-and-effect testing.””

Don’t forget.... follow the herd because that is where the money is.

However, despite the most public scientific farce (global warming) in history and highly politicized research funding we still live in an unprecedented age of exponential technology/knowledge growth.

These are very interesting times in science and I suspect the world in 50 years would surprise us all.

Remember how we were told that AID’s was going to break into the heterosexual community and become a massive health concern? Still waiting on that. LOL

They still say it! And every year there was a different nation that was going to be wiped out! One year it was Uganda. Then Thailand. Then Russia, Chech Republic, India, South Africa. It never happened, did it?

I’m surprised that cancer isn’t even shown on that pie chart. Is cancer research funded by some other agency?
