But then you to wait to see if you get audited and based on how long it took them pay a penalty and interest.
For two years in a row we were audited and told we did not have a child and assessed penalties in the thousands. The second year, we got pretty hot and the supervisor admitted that they used us as training for new hires in auditing and penalizing.

Being audited always sucks... I pay so much in taxes that they know I’m not cheating. If I were willing to play games with various tax schemes I probably could legally pay significantly less taxes but then again, I don’t like the fear of living at the edge with something that can ruin your life. So I pay...
