Its five strands of diamonds covered her decolletage and made the Queen's jewels look quite modest as they attended the Queen's banquet for the Commonwealth Heads of Government in Kampala, Uganda, on Friday.

But Camilla didn't deliberately set out to overshadow her mother-in-law - the Queen gave her permission to borrow it from the royal collection.

Camilla's favourite couturier, Anna Valentine, designed her a simple duck-egg blue dress and matching stole to set off the necklace, estimated to be worth tens of millions of dollars.

The Duchess added the Queen Mother's Boucheron tiara, a set of diamond earrings and the Queen Elizabeth II Family Order, given to female members of the royal family.

Any decent trainer shouldn’t need more than a few hours to teach that thing to take a lump of sugar or a carrot out of my hand.

My 7 y/o saw Camilla's picture, so I showed her this one of Princess Diana, and she says, "Who would want to break up with a princess and marry THAT?!" Out of the mouth of babes...:-)

Maybe he had no choice????

"Who would want to break up with a princess and marry THAT?!"

Exactly my thought. Obviously I never knew Princess Diana beyond what I could read, but I think she was one of the most beautiful women in the world, both from within and without...such a loss.

dress is also artless... looks like something my late mother might have buzzed up on her old Singer sewing machine!

THAT's the kind of description I was trying to come up with = absolutely apt

Yes but she’s got a halo in this photograph. That trumps everything, doesn’t it?

Clearly Freeper men care only about looks and not the quality of the person.

If you reread most of the comments, I think you'll find that the common denominator that puzzles many men is why he cheated on Princess Diana for her. In similar fashion, her "quality" was to encourage a relationship that should have ended when he married Diana. Perhaps we're jaundiced by what the MSM wrote when all this was going on...I know I was, and pictures like this simply add to our confusion about why he cheated on Diana.

Why? Because looks aren’t everything. Would you want to be married to woman whose hobby was throwing up? Di was beautiful and doubtless loved her sons but she was also immature, emotionally damaged and at times scheming.

She was married to another when she started her liaison with Charles

Nope. Camilla and Charles dated when they were younger. She waited for a proposal but Charles wouldn't settle down. Camilla then married elsewhere.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

Oh I hardly think Camilla is any more of a Royal Whore than Diana was, no matter who was prettier.

That's an odd observation. Charles had a long time mistress, who was still married herself. His affair with Camilla never ended, even during the courtship of Dianna and you want to label Dianna in the same catagory as Camilla?

Oh My God! That picture makes Helen Thomas look good. Jewels on a horse face, I am reminded of some Disney cartoon with an evil Queen, swilling wine.

Diana didn’t speak to her father for years after he remarried. She hated her step-mother and supposedly pushed her down the stairs during an argument. And didn’t Diana have affairs with some of her bodyguards?

No matter how pretty on the outside she had some real problems.

So one long term affair is worse than a series of brief liasons with the hired help?

Camilla started out by reminding Charles when they first met that her great(?) grandmother was a mistress of his great(?) grandfather. They were more than willing to continue the tradition. AS I understand it, he couldn’t marry her at first because she didn’t have the right “bloodline” and had a “past.”

Charles was a FOOL. Period.

Well, let's not forget that saying that I first saw right here on FR... "She may be the most beautiful woman in the world... But somewhere, some guy is saying, "I'm sick of her s**t!"

Diana was a renegade that did not understand her place.

She performed the primary function and after that was expendable.

This one doesn't look as though she has aged too gracefully.

Maybe it's the glass of wine.

This one didn't have the chance. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

For Phillip it must be love ... but I can see  it might take several glass of wine for me at dinner with the first one across the table at her "regal elegance" crown and all. Easy on the eyes ... NOT! Sorry.
