Its five strands of diamonds covered her decolletage and made the Queen's jewels look quite modest as they attended the Queen's banquet for the Commonwealth Heads of Government in Kampala, Uganda, on Friday.
But Camilla didn't deliberately set out to overshadow her mother-in-law - the Queen gave her permission to borrow it from the royal collection.
Camilla's favourite couturier, Anna Valentine, designed her a simple duck-egg blue dress and matching stole to set off the necklace, estimated to be worth tens of millions of dollars.
The Duchess added the Queen Mother's Boucheron tiara, a set of diamond earrings and the Queen Elizabeth II Family Order, given to female members of the royal family.

She looks like a horse in a blanket--a blanket that doesn't fit.
This girl has no idea about grace.

Looking at this photo I’ve finally come to realize that Charles must be out of his cotton-picking mind.

My 7 y/o saw Camilla's picture, so I showed her this one of Princess Diana, and she says, "Who would want to break up with a princess and marry THAT?!" Out of the mouth of babes...:-)
Charles was a FOOL. Period.

I guess they need to design a set of jewels for the Royal Whore. When the Royal males can’t kkep their wedding vows and unwrap their own family jewels for a romp in the hay, those diamonds could shine on the night stand.

She looks awful. Was the crown really necessary? That gold thing on the wall makes her makes her look like the Pope or something.
And what is that red thing tied around her arm/wrist?

For pete’s sake. She is a middle-aged woman with grown children and an unfortunate hair style. She has obviously avoided the plastic surgeon. If she had not avoided the plastic surgeon, she would be criticized for that. You will see just as bad, if not worse, in any Walmart, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus or grocery store today. If Charles is happy with her, why does anyone else care? There really is no accounting for taste. And if somebody offered me the chance to wear some of George III’s diamonds, I would take it, too. I take it all the men commenting here look like Antonio Banderas dressed by Giorgio Armani.

While the diamonds are...well...BIG, I’m more interested in that little snippet of red yarn she’s wearing on her right wrist.
Has the Duchess gone Kabbalah?

Um, the bling is simply over the top. You would be hard pressed to put that on anyone and it look good. It is just in your face wealth. No grace. No elegance. All of which were her choices. Those choices are fair game to comment on.

Honestly, she is not a traditionally pretty woman, but who of you who are posting here actually look better under harsh lights? The fact that Charles fell in love with her, stayed in love with her despite his marriage to a beautiful but highly neurotic woman, and finally broke up with the beauty to marry her speaks well of her character. As Pascal said, "Le coeur a ses raisons que le raison ne connait point. . ." or, "The heart has reasons of which logic understands nothing."

That gold thing on the wall makes her makes her look like the Pope or something. Maybe the photographer got the angle just a few degrees off and that's why the golden disk is not centered behind her head so as to give her a religious icon look. The angle elongated the look into a Papal hat effect which I think was not the intent.
I suspect the intent was to further the BS mythology put forth in Holy Blood, Holy Grail and followed up on by Dan Brown in his movie.
IOW they seem to think we're going to buy the crap that current royalty is descended from Christ, thereby reawakening the divine right of kings Bull Hockey.
Sorry, Cammie, no sale and you are not equipped in any category to promote it. Neither is the Trouser Tampon.

BTW, Angela, I happen to agree with you. This woman is in her 50s, and looks it.
So does most everybody in the world unless wealthy enough to go under the knife.
They were wrong to cheat on their spouses, though, and I suppose that fact has a great deal to do with the anger directed at her here. That is the bed they made for themselves. It is hard to be sympathetic to people who have broken vows so flagrantly.

Suffice to say, how lovely it would be for someone to design an expensive dress for me to wear with & enhance my diamonds....(
if I had any diamonds :^)Camilla was the catalyst for Di & Charles ruinous marriage, pure & simple.

To: bannie
Diana had as much royal blood flowing through her veins as her hubby... this appears to be as much about mocking Diana because only the jewels out of the Queen's box will ever stamp Cammy a royal. Diana was seduced into being selected for one purpose and that was to bear royal children. Once she discovered what the gig was she did not serve quietly.
To: bannie
Could be...after all, everybody knows that the wearing of red snippets of cloth indicate that you CARE.
Regards,
PS: Remember that Seinfeld where Kramer wouldn’t wear the red AIDS ribbon while marching in the AIDS walk? “Why do I have to wear that thing? I’m walking in the walk! Doesn’t that mean I care?”
To: Fairview
I disagree: I feel that the fact that he cheated on his then-innocent wife and her willingness to participate in the destruction of that marriage—and her continued cheating on her own family—shows total LACK of character.

Camilla is the one Charles always wanted. Diana was the virgin he had to marry to make “an heir and a spare” to placate the proles.
And Diana went along with it so she’s not the saint people want to paint her to be.
