Another month is coming, and another 250,000 forms are being mailed out in the U.S. Census Bureau's perpetual American Community Survey, which demands responses to personal questions about a family's lifestyle, housing accommodations, work schedules, physical and mental disabilities, income and the like.
That means roughly 250,000 times recipients will see the warning that participation is required by law, and there are penalties including fines for not answering each question. But, in fact, U.S. Census Bureau officials say they've never had anyone prosecuted for refusing to provide those intimate details to the government.
"The Census Bureau has never prosecuted anybody," spokesman Clyve Richmond told WND. "We try to work with people and explain how useful the information is."
As WND has reported, the U.S. Census Bureau switched from the surveys once every 10 years, called for in the U.S. Constitution, to annual surveys sent to three million households, to keep the government's data more up-to-date.
The issue arises periodically about the invasion into a family's privacy by the questions, including:
Does this house, apartment, or mobile home have COMPLETE plumbing facilities; that is, 1) hot and cold piped water, 2) a flush toilet, and 3) a bathtub or shower?
At any time DURING THE PAST 12 MONTHS, did anyone in this household receive food stamps? If so, how much?
Do you have a mortgage and if so, how much is it?
Because of a physical, mental, or emotional condition does this person have any difficulty in doing any of the following: learning, dressing, bathing or getting around?
Has this person given birth in the last year?

I hope you replied with a 12 gauge!
Most Census folks I’ve run into in the recent past, are nothing more than poor folks doing a job, and I honestly feel sad when I have to tell them that I’m not going to divulge that kind of personal and private information to the government because its none of their damn business...
The hurt looks is what gets me, and I tell them its nothing personal against them...
Most still do not understand though...And thats sad a well...
WOW! Excellent material. That was fantastic.
"About the last year or so, we've been getting more and more of those concerns: people don't want to respond. They just don't believe the federal government or anyone can keep their information secret anymore," Richmond said.
I want to know if anyone was disciplined for violating the HIPPA act for the public disclosure of Rush Limbaugh's medical records or for the incident when he was searched at customs and his prescription drug information was shouted out in public. This is how one person behaved in public, so how do others behave when they are out of view?
Past it, actually. Good luck!
No one should answer the part about race. The government has no right to classify people by race.
The census taker is not the problem. They are just people who can’t find a regular job and took this job because the government needs to fill AA quotas and isn’t very picky.
The problem is the government. The government is getting more and more coercive every day.
I am so confused.
Is a bidet required?
A jacuzzi?
What constitutes "complete plumbing facillities", nowadays anyway?
I cannot help note that there are five flavors of Hispanicity (including ‘none’), but all the rich cultural diversity of the tribes, cultures, languages, and subgroups of Europe and beyond are lumped into “White”.
LOL! I just emailed that to three people.
I would fill out the parts of the form that are already known like my name and address already on the envelope they sent to me and the rest would be crossed out with N/A .............unconstitutional request
Well, that's a problem since I have ancestral lines which go back to Spain, too, but I figure it is better than checking "white/caucasian" because we've never been able to trace an ancestral line back to the Caucasian Mountain region.
This crap about trying to divide America into quarreling racial groups is crap anyway, because everyone is multi-racial to one degree or another anyway.
If I were POTUS for just one day, one of the first things I would do is issue an executive order (EO) mandating the census bureau count the number of people and absolutely nothing else.
The “Caucasian” label is too sweeping. They should subdivide it into Armenian, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Chechen, Circassian, Ossetian, etc.
I had one pretend to be in need of my business services and make an appointment, only to harass me about the census form that I turned in late. They called be at least six times at different times of the day and used different people.
The sole purpose of the census is to count people for redistricting, and everything else is a wish list for congressional snooping.
Yeah, new ways to pit Americans against one another.
Rush Limbaugh read a story about a town the ACS wiped off the records. A really small place, on the order of 30 houses or so.
The census taker breezed through one day, and everybody was literally away at work, on vacation, school, or not answering the door.
The gub'mint figured the town died, and wiped it from their records.
And I got counted twice in the 1980 census. I had graduated and started a new job, and the bozos at the census bureau "lost" information for my new domicile.
Yeah right.
Kennedy and Tip O'Neil country had started losing population, and what better way cover adding population than to pull something like that.
It’s an old SNL skit. Check the link on post #25!
go to post #29 and watch the video at the link!
Thanks! :)
I want a block that says -
“American by birth, Scotts-Irish by Ancestry, Patriot by Choice and Christian by the Grace of God!”
Thank you for the link. Requested information goes way beyond a governmental attack on personal privacy. Granted, most of this information is already available but not in such bundled form. What a gold mine of information for marketing and governmental review! Sandy Berger showed how easy it is to steal sensitive information; The Clintons demonstrated their ability to obtain and maintain FBI files...how can we trust government functionaries with such personal data?
