You don't always need that piece of Latin-laden paper to pull in six figures. You don't need to invent something to get rich. And you don't need to look far for a lucrative opportunity.
There are plenty of honest livings to be made in the U.S workforce that can earn you six-figure salaries sans a college degree. That's not to say you won't be required to undergo extensive training or work long hours, but at least you won't be lugging around that student debt. It's important to note that they're not all "blue-collar" jobs, a term that has become outdated when describing skilled-trade work.

There are ways to do this. The truck is owned by the trucker. Trucking companies hire drivers and furnish trucks, but have about 100% turnover every year.

None of the truck drivers I know make 6 figures. I suppose it’s possible that owner operators make six figures before dumping at least one of them back into the truck.

Usually a job that involves personal contact has some basic requirements for licensing or certification by the State. If there is an education requirement it would usually be that or substitute appropriate experience.
My brother used to do this - but most tech writing work moved to India right after the dot com implosion. Even $30/hour was too much when superior quality work could be had for $5.
Aircraft controller? It should be Air Traffic Controller. The only ones who control aircraft are pilots.
In New York, if you want to be a funeral director (another good job if you have the personality for it), you need to complete an internship, which I’ve been told is impossible in most areas, unless you have family or another connection, because the funeral directors’ don’t want the competition. I don't know about the others.
Trades are good. Get all your certifications and hire others and you will be a millionaire right away.

For some IT positions, yes. I haven’t polled them all, but I know of no highly-paid software developers or systems architects who do not have a degree, to include rather costly subsequent certification and training. As more and more universities are offering degrees that specialize in things like web development and other IT positions, employers are more interested in hiring applicants with degrees in those positions.
We have brought in several young people (19 to 23) with either no degree or a degree in unrelated fields and begun to give them on-the-job and online training, but they’re not making anything remotely close to $100,000 and never will.
