Ron Paul may be excluded from Iowa FOX News debate [mod note: source's headline writer can't read]

The Iowa Republican Party and Fox News Channel announced today plans for a Dec. 4 debate of the GOP presidential campaigns in Des Moines.

The Tuesday evening event is scheduled for Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines and comes as the race to the Jan. 3 caucuses enters its final month.

It was unclear who would attend, although only those candidates who had support of at least 5 percent of those surveyed in recent national polls or The Des Moines Register’s Iowa Poll are invited, Iowa GOP officials said.

That would include former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Arizona Sen. John McCain, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson. It could leave out U.S. Reps. Duncan Hunter of California and Tom Tancredo of Colorado.

Then it’s a debate not worth watching with a bunch of pretenders and double-talkers.

Hate to tell ya, but Paul is listed as one of the potential participants, right there in the fourth paragraph. Hunter and Tancredo look to be on the outs.

Oh come on. Every family has a crazy uncle out there somewhere.
The GOP is no different. Let him debate.

That would include... U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas...

I don't get it. The headline says Paul may be out, but the content of the article indicates he would be in.

Misleading Headline Alert

It could leave out U.S. Reps. Duncan Hunter of California and Tom Tancredo of Colorado.

Exactly. The headline doesn’t match the story.

Bad idea anyway. I’m not a Paul supporter but he is a candidate. And I want my choice (Hunter) to get as much exposure as possible.

Paul just raised $4.2 million in a single day. I can’t stand him, but excluding him won’t be easy.

That left me scratching my head today. All I can conclude is that there are a lot of anti-war (nominal) Republicans who have way too much money burning holes in their pockets. There's no other way to explain it.

It is misleading, but that's how the source article is titled. I probably should've been more careful, but I get pretty excited when I see "exclude" and "Ron Paul" in the same story.
