WASHINGTON — The top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee has launched a wide-ranging investigation into the financial dealings of six TV evangelists, including Joyce Meyer, the popular preacher who has built a $124-million-a-year empire headquartered in Fenton.
On Monday, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, asked Meyer to provide his staff with documents detailing the finances of the Joyce Meyer Ministries, including the religious group's compensation to Meyer, her husband and other family members, as well as an accounting of their housing allowances, gifts and credit card statements for the last several years.

I Like Joel Osteen as well. I would say he makes a great deal on his book deals and as personal income, pays plenty of taxes. At times he seems more motivational speaker than preacher. I surely miss the old man, John Osteen. I don’t think I ever once heard him ask for money or Joel for that matter.
Then here’s hoping we all get to live in the slums someday. :)

Blinking implies sincerity and fondness. People in love blink more when they are looking at their love interest. It’s an old hypnotist trick.

Ministries an "F" rating for not divulging their financial picture.

Have you ever heard Neal Boortz talk about Jan Crouch’s hair and makeup? He has made me laugh til I cried.
Is it the Senate’s job to ‘investigate’ a matter like this? If it’s a tax issue, the IRS does an audit, right? Personally, the ethics the politicians in our government exhibit give me no confidence in their ability to judge the ethics of businesses or ministries.
If little old ladies are handing their SS checks over to Joyce, that sounds like a societal problem. I’ve never heard of any such complaints myself.
It’s not uncommon for pastors to stretch the truth to get a response. This is particularly true of the more charismatic variety.
Separation of church and state is a joke.
What about Joel Osteen? I’m surprised he’s not on the list.
