Interesting take on what may become a new type of device.

If it can run mobile broadband, I’m getting one tomorrow!

It has a mini pci express slot on the motherboard, so you can run mobile broadband, but you’d have to wipe Linux and put Windoze on it, since nobody seems to be able to find *nix drivers for any of the mobile cards.
The 8gig one will be out at the end of this month. I’ll pick one up for myself for Xmas. Looks like a must have for the ‘always connected, always working’ among us. :)

Solid State Flash HD.
I like the sound of that, or the lack of sound.

I may be interested in the 8G black one when it comes out. Really, I could do 98% of everything I do on it. This is pretty cool.

512 MB is plenty for most Linux apps. In fact, one of my old Pentium II laptops has only 192 but runs Mandriva 2008 just fine (although the 3D desktop would be out of question for processor speed reasons, not memory). I actually seem to have more free memory with this latest 2.6.22 kernel.

IIRC, this is the unit that runs a customized version of Xandros Linux.
