It has a mini pci express slot on the motherboard, so you can run mobile broadband, but you’d have to wipe Linux and put Windoze on it, since nobody seems to be able to find *nix drivers for any of the mobile cards.

The 8gig one will be out at the end of this month. I’ll pick one up for myself for Xmas. Looks like a must have for the ‘always connected, always working’ among us. :)

I think if this is successful, and it appears it will be so, that Asus will be able to get the drivers for Mobile Broadband worked out. In a lot of ways, this feels like a platform that is upgradeable without much effort (for the vendor).

Interestingly, there is speculation that Dell could be shopping for a buyout...and Asus is mentioned as being on their list. Dell is doing Linux on consumer desktops (at least one) and notebooks, and the EeePC would be a great addition).
