Tamara Mitchell-Ford will remain in jail while two pending DUI cases and other related charges work their way through the courts, her attorney announced in court this morning.
Mitchell-Ford, 43, will not try to make her $50,000 bond and instead waived six pending cases to the Shelby County Grand Jury.
She also has a pending DUI case in Collierville where she has a Nov. 15 hearing on a violation of probation charge.
She was one probation for 11 months and 27 days following a guilty plea to a DUI arrest there in February. One standard condition of probation is to avoid new arrests. She picked up the new Collierville DUI charge in September.
Mitchell-Ford was arrested again last Wednesday after police said she caused a three-car accident in East Memphis
She was charged with DUI, public intoxication, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a breath-alcohol test and violation of the state open-container law, said state DUI prosecutor Brooks Yelverton.
He asked General Sessions Criminal Court Judge Louis Montesi Jr. to require Mitchell-Ford to wear an electronic alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet if she makes bond.
Her attorney, Juni Ganguli, said today that her probation likely will be revoked at the Collierville hearing and that she will either be sentenced to jail or ordered into treatment. For that reason, he said, there would be no point in trying to make bond now.

Ok, Maybe I am out of it on this one. Who is this person?
The short answer is that she's the ex-wife of John Ford, and aunt of wannabe-senator Harold Ford, Jr.

You don’t really want to know.
The Fords are the Ray Nagins of Memphis, but go back to the 50s.
That’s “Whitey” Ford’s aunt by marriage.
Booyah!!!
Jeeze, I’m amazed there is no mention of political affiliation. (NOT)

Or better, see the World Net Daily writeup *here*.
It appears that after that little incident in 2001 when she crashing her car into the front doorway of John Ford's then current girlfriend her political protection has been pulled. But we'll see.
To be fair, this is from the local Memphis paper, and their readers do not need to be reminded which party the Fords control.
GENTLEMEN OF THE JURY, HOW DO YE FIND?
Guilty.
Looks like Johnny beat her with an Ugly Stick, too.
