Interestingly, I'm reminded of my school days when the innocent were punished along with the culprits. If Sister left the room for a few minutes and returned to hear talking among students, the whole class took the brunt.

The rest of society is now looked upon with suspicion when only a minority are guilty.

We've got a big problem here!

So we put our kids in the school system, or rather the state compels us with its near monopoly of violence to install our children in the school system or ransom them out and put them in private schools. Originally the justification for the forced education of our children was a child benefit theory. The kids needed to learn to read and write in order to cope with society and society needed literate and numerate citizens.

Gradually, however, the state expanded the responsibilities of the school system to include matters such as sports, and learning how to drive, and music, and dance, and social skills, and ultimately, all the matters which go to make up political correctness. These include matters of proper regard for homosexuality and sexual harassment.

As the state expanded the role of our schools beyond education into indoctrination, the state justified these intrusions into the souls of our children saying, in effect, that the children need to be "socialized." Indeed, here in Germany it is illegal to homeschool and the justification for this intrusion is just that, the children must be socialized with other children. In my view it, it means that the children must receive the proper doses of indoctrination. The state also justifies these intrusions by alleging that only the state can be relied upon with its resources to properly do the job. After all, the schools have staff psychologists, they have read all the latest books, they have counselors and they have read all the latest books, and the teachers are all well-trained and afforded syllabuses which to apply and which were all created by the same authorities who wrote the latest books..

The problem for the state is that when teachers behave like this it reveals the system to be foolish, incompetent. The emperor has no clothes. When teachers seduce their pupils, the system is really revealed to have no clothes.

This is past the point of being ridiculous. This type of crap is one reason I favor Home Schooling. Or if that won’t work for parents, a good private school.

Teacher is one sick puppy for even reporting this problem.

That was my first thought as well. That aide is seriously messed up and should never be allowed around children.

They also seem to be rather confused about who ought to be considered responsible for their actions adults or children.

I agree & its strange how they can teach children what they consider proper but parents do not. It IS confusing for sure!

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles. This is becoming a fairly high volume list.

I envision the day when the act of shaking hands will be deemed inappropriate.

That reminds me of the movie Demolition Man.

Your entire comment was well stated and right on!

This article is from December 8, 2006. Is there any information on how this was settled? A lot can happen in almost ten months.

I would be looking very seriously at the teacher, who misconstrues a four your old's hug as a sexual advancement. Its painfully obvious she has psychological issues that should be addressed. Want to bet we hear more about her issues in the near future?

That is one of the worst things that a teacher can do to children, IMO. Nothing made me angrier, when I was a child, than group punishment for individual behavior in which I was not involved.

When my son was 4, he walked up behind his female soccer coach and gave her a double-barrelled buttcheek smack with the hands. She jumped 10 feet in the air and said, "Hey! We don't do that." It never was an issue after that.

He thought, then, that all girls were gross. But he liked the soccer coach because she did "boy things" like sports. He was trying to roughhouse with her like he does with me.

I belonged to a homeschool co-op where it was not uncommon for mothers to sit and nurse their babies - and toddlers - in “class” and around the other kids. At first, I was uncomfortable because I was always a more private person. But my sons never even seemed to notice what was going on.

With all these stories about toddlers accused of inappropriate contact with teachers, I’m surprised stormtroopers didn’t kick in the church door and arrest us all... lol.
