Michael Wallent, a general manager at Microsoft, will return to work in January as Megan Wallent. He came out to colleagues as transgender last month, first in person and then by email. Wallent says he encountered nothing but support -- mixed, of course, with some awkward curiosity. That's unremarkable. Microsoft is located in the progressive Pacific Northwest, where one's less likely to raise an eyebrow at Wallent's self-discovery and more likely to worry about the politically correct term to describe it. (For the record, "sex change" is considered derogatory by many; the preferred word is "transitioning.")

Just darn!
Then I'll take care to use and amplify the words "sex change" whenever appropriate.
Ohmigawd! I wouldn't ridicule the man, I would feel sorry for him. How sick does one have to be to do this?
Michael to Megan...how convenient. S(he) won’t have to change his/her email address.
You wouldn’t want to know what the group of guys I work with would call it.
I can’t imagine that self-mutilation is the key to happiness. IMHO, we do mentally ill people a disservice when we indulge rather than treat them. Many are ready to extend the same solution to pedophiles.

I just “transitioned” to a new job....but despite that I decided to keep my penis.

Unfortunate name for the referenced article website.

$50 bucks says “it” will be walking funny.
H
There’s a Zune joke in here somewhere.
LMAO
Very sick. I know someone who had his organ chopped off ... had been married to a total hottie, 3 kids ... then decided he was really a she. Year later, mutilation and lots of synthetic hormones ... he's pretending to be a she. Wife divorced him (no big surprise). He's still a truly tortured soul.
Isn’t that called a dickerectomy?
Well, it’s not like Microsoft had any balls to begin with.
I’d hit it... 9 Iron should do just fine.
So does that mean Microsoft can pay him less?

Doesn’t say if he will have surgery or just start wearing a dress.
