A small private intelligence company that monitors Islamic terrorist groups obtained a new Osama bin Laden video ahead of its official release last month, and around 10 a.m. on Sept. 7, it notified the Bush administration of its secret acquisition. It gave two senior officials access on the condition that the officials not reveal they had it until the al-Qaeda release.
Within 20 minutes, a range of intelligence agencies had begun downloading it from the company's Web site. By midafternoon that day, the video and a transcript of its audio track had been leaked from within the Bush administration to cable television news and broadcast worldwide.
The founder of the company, the SITE Intelligence Group, says this premature disclosure tipped al-Qaeda to a security breach and destroyed a years-long surveillance operation that the company has used to intercept and pass along secret messages, videos and advance warnings of suicide bombings from the terrorist group's communications network.

Do we really want to believe that SITE can access the so called AL QAEDA SUPER TOP SECRET INTRANET and access all these information but the US intelligence agencies cannot do it? Isn't SITE duty to give the US intelligence the access to the AL QAEDA INTRANET if such an INTRANET really exist? If it does exist it is run and accessed by a handful of people? If it does exist we should have arrested thousands of Al Qaeda terrorists in few days because everything we need to know about them is on this INTRANET according to what SITE and the media are telling us. Have you heard of the arrest of thousands of Al Qaeda terrorists in matter of few days because we found everything we need to know about them? I have not heard of such a thing. What is the value of the Bin Laden video on 9/7/2007? an absolute ZERO and a joke that was a big disappointment to the terrorists.
There is a lot of BS in this story and the claims of what the SITE institute is making in term of their access to Al Qaeda.
First off this "leak" is much ado about nothing...as nothing was leaked that was supplied by SITE Intelligence Group.....(when said info was already had).
WH leaker on this one - Nope.
Bingo - lots! -
How weird!
I heard a newsbreak on the radio this afternoon, stating that the morning story was being withdrawn, and that there is still access to AQ information.
Good grief, it sounds like someone leaked a faux story of a “shut down” to hurt the President and the WOT.
But why today? There is always a reason.
It appears that the US intel types view anything SITE comes up with as already being in the public domain. So once SITE had the video, it could not have been leaked since the fact that SITE had it actually meant it was already leaked ? Maybe SITE was being used to leak false front stories. The secret terrorist Intranet could have actually been a false flag controlled operation designed to reel in loose canons.
Yes there is always a reason, we may know the reason in the near future.
It is called hide in plain sight...There is no secret AQ Intranet...it is right under our noses..The appropriate people know where it is. Now, it will just move elsewhere...in plain sight....no matter where they hide we will find them. Think in terms of 3-D chess..
When I read Time Mags 9/11 Special Edition, a week after the attacks, Sen Bob Graham was quoted as saying there is “some evidence” that Saddam was involved, evidence that is “credible enough to not take Iraq off the list”.
Graham was the then Dem Chairman of the Senate Intell committee.
I always wondered what that “credible evidence” was.
Time also reported that intell sources from SW Asia “suggested and Iraqi role in training” last weeks terrorists.
Will we ever know?

The story is all bs.
And border agents doing their jobs.
The CIA has been acting like its role was to attack Bush for years.
State Dept has been little better.
Clinton fired all the US attorneys when he took office. Bush fired how many when he took office? Surely he was not stupid enough to leave the Clinton agents in place?
Oh, wait he was that stupid.
This is the part that you are not seeing.

Is anyone wondering how a private company can infiltrate a terrorist website but our government intelligence can’t?
