Yet, if he'd published an article titled, "F**k Hillary", we'd be reading about the riots, the outraged profs, and how he had been thrown out of the college...

“”We see the editorial as an opinion which is protected by the First Amendment,” Landers read.”
So that’s the justification for keeping his job? If I told my boss to go f—k himself, think I’d have a job?
Just because you have freedom of speech, doesn’t relieve you of the responsibility of your words.

Losers all around. The outcome was a forgone conclusion. McSwane learned absolutely nothing, other than he can do as he pleases. The CSU Board of Student Communications shows that it is a toothless waste. Landers proves he has no backbone when he agrees the incident caused harm to the paper and the student media, and refuses to stand up for ethics and professionalism. There was a time in this country when standing up for what is right was a good thing. No more obviously.

Ask Landers if he would let the editor-in-chief (or anyone like him) baby sit HIS kids.

"I think he handled it extremely well considering the amount of coverage that it got," Star said. "People need to realize that he's a 20-year-old student and not a professional yet."Oh, what BS. Just because he's "a 20 year-old" is no excuse whatever for this immature and disgusting display of stupidity. We have 20-year olds making life and death decisions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and behaving with courage, honor, and selflessness. It's not a matter of age; it's maturity, common sense, and decency that matter. This fool will never have any of those things even when he's 60.

Obviously, the kid’s Parents have NOT gotten their money’s worth for his education....by now his command of the English language should be better....oh, and he helped the newspaper LOSE 18 advertisers and up to $50,000.

Well, despite the wrist slap, ol’ McSwane may soon be out of a job anyway considering how many advertisers have pulled their support from his rag, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. This decision will probably not make them change their minds.

"Taser this: F**k Bush." OK. Let's examine this for a moment.
First of all, some self-aggrandizing loudmouth gets tasered at a John Kerry event for asking Kerry an embarrassing question.
Then, in apparent protest of this tasering (at the Kerry event) this editor curses at Bush in print.
Did I get that all? Did I miss something here? I haven't heard anybody even question the logic of this.

It is our judgment that his actions were unethical and unprofessional, but since he hates Bush, we'll give him a medal and let it slide. However, if he says that about the Cankled Cackler, and we'll string him up!

This ‘professor’ who said he regarded this as a first amendment issue has written (amongst others):
Island Empire: Discourse on American Imperialism
Specter of Stalemate: Vietnam War Perspectives in Newsweek...
Cold War Conundrum: Magazine Coverage of ASEAN’s Transition from Client States to Competitors
I wonder how he reacted to the ‘Swifties’ and their outing of John F’ing Kerry?

I’m sure they’d graciously honor your first amendment rights by engaging you in long, meaningful conversations on your thoughts about the situation (sarc button on).

This punk is just a little anti-republican/anti-military moron who loves the attention he gets. Some of you may recall the story a couple years back where some high school kid posed as a drug-user and recorded the army recruiters efforts to still get him in — well this is the same kid. He got tons of attention from the local media saying how great he was for it and I am sure that’s why he was even the editor up at CSU. He personifies the new bread of journalist who feels it is their job to become part of the story and press their own agenda. In the end I think he proved the opposite of what he was trying to show. He wasn’t arrested or even fired. The worst he got was a little slap on the wrist for being rude. So I guess low and behold the USA isn’t such a bad place like he and his ilk would like to think it is but I am sure he won’t report that. He will move on to higher levels of idiocy as he invents new ways to try and show how “oppressed” liberals are. I am sure he thinks of himself as a courageous fighter for freedom but would never dream of trying stunts like this in a truly oppressive nation where he’d get a bullet instead of a parade.
