As for the “truth” thing, I think I know the video you’re talking about. Poor Ron was cornered. He has said repeatedly that there was no 9-11 coverup, the only investigation we need to do is in regards to the bureaucratic nightmare that had an FBI agent reporting 30-something times to her superiors that Arabs were training to fly planes but not take off or land, and still nothing happened.
Ron Paul served as a flight surgeon for 6 years during the Vietnam war. I have never heard him introduced as a “Vietnam veteran” however he has called himself a 6 year veteran of the Air Force.
The only candidate who might be stronger on border immigration is Duncan Hunter. Even as a Libertarian in 1988, he bucked the party and was for closed borders. He has never flip-flopped on this issue.
There are two categories of ‘Vietnam Veteran’ recognized by the Federal Government.
First, the ‘Vietnam Veteran’. To qualify you actually had to serve in Vietnam. Paul would not qualify.
Second, the ‘Vietnam Era Veteran’. To qualify you only had to be on active duty during Vietnam. Paul qualifies.
This distinction is lost on most people and I’ve seen numerous instances of media confusion on this point as well. Unless Paul has specifically called himself a ‘Vietnam Veteran’, I wouldn’t make a big deal out of this one.
So,..would that be because Duncan Hunter is essentially a one-issue candidate, and therefore can spend more time talking about his one issue?
I say why not support a candidate that has all the issues covered? (Dr. Ron Paul)
Hunter likely won't reduce the handouts, IMO. Paul will get rid of all the freebies and make it easier to do business here so companies won't have to resort to hiring illegals. Plus Paul supports a militarized border, with Army troops on the border, in addition to a fence.
