I suspect this story is true, otherwise we would have heard screaming from CAIR about the “abuse” of these Arab travelers. The perps were probably testing security to see what they could get into their luggage without detection.

The perps were probably testing security to see what they could get into their luggage without detection. Yes, according to the article they had a fake bomb with detectable traces of Semtex, including clock, wiring and batteries. One of them had two passports with different IDs. Yes, I would say they were testing the airport security in Orlando.
It also says they were let go, but if it were me, I would grill them for days on all their contacts and make them wish they had never done it.
