I suspect this story is true, otherwise we would have heard screaming from CAIR about the “abuse” of these Arab travelers. The perps were probably testing security to see what they could get into their luggage without detection.

This story cannot be true. Is so, our wonderful newspeople would certainly would have told us about it.

From the article:

“According to official sources speaking on condition of anonymity to the Northeast Intelligence Network, the Middle Eastern passengers were taken from the checkpoint to the Orlando Police Station at the airport by police and FBI officials. Ultimately, they were released by federal officials well after flight 1824 had left the airport.”

True, you picked the sarcasm up correctly. However, I think it should be a felony to play with the system the way the flying imams and these people have done. If this is truly a dry run, we will be at some point in time be in for a very rude awakening.

Let me ask you this, do you really believe this report to be accurate?

I have seen what the information the government hides. The answer is yes.

Who made that decision? Is there a list of unreputable sources that are banned? Just wondering. I occasionally check NIN and CFP to see what their saying. They seem to have stories like this that go unreported elsewhere. I often wonder whats the deal...are they making them up or sensationalizing....would appreciate your thoughts.

A couple years ago the proprietors of NIN repeatedly caused major disruptions on the FR thread that is commonly known as the "Threat Matrix." IIRC, they and/or their shills trolled the Threat Matrix thread using various screen names where they planted stories and created a buzz about terrorism and security related issues in an obvious effort to direct people to the NIN website. If you took the bait and went to the NIN website, you would find a bunch of teaser articles, but you would have to become a paying member of the NIN to get the details.

A lot of the stuff that the NIN people were posting on the Threat Matrix was really out there, and made Debka and WND look like credible sources in comparison. For example, one of the stories they planted, IIRC, was that the NSA, CIA, FBI, or some super-secret spook agency whose name I can't remember, found some sort of nuke device in NYC (or it might have been Boston or Baltimore or some other big east coast city), which they were able to safely remove and explode in the Atlantic Ocean off the Continental Shelf. NIN even provided a seismic graph to prove the explosion, which several Freepers quickly debunked as not fitting the very distinct profile of a nuclear explosion (or an explosion of any kind). When anyone challenged NIN or its sources (which were often super secret sources deep within some super secret agency, which NIN refused to disclose), the NIN person would become extremely belligerent, engage in personal attacks, and threatened to sue someone, including Free Republic. Although I don't know for sure, I suspect that is why NIN links are banned.

With that said, I have not been to the NIN website and quite some time, and therefore, I have no opinion on their current business practices or the legitimacy of their claims.

It must have been a dry run and they only found trace material. A good lawyer can get them off.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I don’t follow all of this closely enough to have an idea on which sources are reliable and which aren’t. I once posted an article that I found on Debka and someone jumped on me for posting it, stating that Debka was completely unreliable.

This Flight 1824 story is a good example of the kind of thing that makes you wonder what to believe. If true, it is a very alarming story and should make everyone really think twice before getting on a plane (IMO).

I have a healthy distrust of the MSM but I also recognize that there is alot of money being made by hyping-up fear of terrorism. Most of these websites are peddling something...a book, insider-newsletters, or T-shirts.

I guess that’s what makes FR so unique.

Well, thanks again.

They were released?!? Does this bother anyone else besides me? We have middle eastern people engaging in questionable behavior in custody and we didn't think it was a good idea to place them under arrest while we investigaed other family members who may have been holding plane tickets to fly later that same day?

Brilliant, just brilliant.

"...No worse cult ever sprang forth from the very depths of Hell..."

Dude, YOU know this, and I know this, but it is a very similar comment that got me banned from FR shortly after 9/11......

Anyway, I approve!

Excuse me if this has already been suggested, but is it possible not just for a “test”, but for a decoy?

I mean, maybe have more-obvious abusers come through the system to detract from the real direct terrorists who aren’t so stupid?

Always request a blanket. You can wrap an unruly hijacker in it (drape the whole then over his head/body mass or wrap it around him like a rope). Greased arms won't help him and neither will holding a knife.
Thanks, I'll try to remember that a little harder than I'll try to avoid flying again, LOL.

Here's one I've used thrice since 9/11. I bought a biker's wallet on a chain and hang it around my neck while in the air/airport. Ostensibly, it keeps my ticket, ID and credit card handy so I don't have to stand around digging into my purse or carryon for those important documents when requested. (Considering the indignities we're subject to for flying, I'm not worried about appearances.) Amazingly, *nobody* has ever tried to tell me I couldn't board the plane with the chain attached. The loop of chain is long enough to easily slip over my head, and I'm happy to wield it if need be.

Hello Soylent,

I'm very sorry that happened to you; of course, I was completely unaware of it.

The only thing I can figure is that since you commented shortly after 9-11, maybe folks were still dealing with the shock, and wanted to extend the "benefit of the doubt," or just hope like hell such a declaration wasn't really true.

But since that time, the murderous minions of Mohammed have scarcely passed up any opportunity to show their true, disgusting colors, so it may very well be that whether they wanted to believe it or not, previously skeptical folks have eventually come to the same realization.

Of course, that's just my opinion, and you know what they say about those...

But if it should turn out that I get the boot, too, then at least it will have been for one of the best possible causes, I believe. Islam itself is strewn with the seeds of anarchy, mayhem, and evil. Just because the devotees aren't burning and killing at any given time or place doesn't mean that they can't or won't do so someday.

Somebody recently put it so very well; I wish I could remember who it was who said, "Osama Bin Laden didn't hijack the Koran - he simply started taking it seriously."

Give the @$$holes a one way ticket to Israel - by force then put them on the no-fly list.

The clowns on this particular flight - with the greasy necks and arms — strange items resembling bombs in their bags, should go onto the NO FLY list for their lifetime..

The silly bastards want to play their cute games - then let them walk, swim or stay the hell home in their turd world environment..
