Is it possible to post high-res pics of the damage, esp the statue damage?
Also, how about pics of the clean up crew? Grounds keepers, or specialized chem cleanup types?
Some local Freepers must be close by with camera equipment.

Washing this off with a pressure washer is a futile task. Oil seeps into tiny pores and crevasses in the stone and even though it appears clean after pressure washing the oil in these pores will in time wick back up to the surface and it will look the same as before.
They should apply some type of oil cleaning bio product. These products contain enzymes that consume the oil even into the pores. Bio-enzymes are eco friendly and present no risk of damage to the stone.

SGT Booker of the National Park Service (NPS) has informed the MOPH that this was a cleaning accident by a Park Ranger and
NOT a defacement. I think these tapes and photos by tgslTakoma are inconsistent with the NPS’s information.
