tgslTakoma was up late putting Vietnam Memorial Wall (DC) Defaced Sept 7-8, 2007: PART 2 on youtube and asked that this be posted.
Part 3 will show the vandalism to the Nurses Statue and the Brothers Statue.
tgslTakoma also noticed on East Wall Panel 15E that it had multiple deep, long, vertical scratches/gouges. That will also be in Part 3
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?!? You mean they let Mitch/Midge out of his/her cage?!?
What the heck? It’s like pulling hens teeth to get facts from the government and media, isn’t it?
Thanks for the ping, I appreciate it. I’m just at a loss of words on this disgraceful act of hate.
Thanks for the ping! Please keep me posted with any updates.
Will Do.
When tgslTakoma posts Part 3 Thursday, I’ll be sure to ping my list.
Trooprally ping: update from MOPH on Vietnam Wall situation
I don’t understand why some seem so intent on excusing away something like this.
I’m the first preson who would prefer to believe that it was some sort of accident or mistake rather than have to face the fact that there is someone this nasty loose in society. But it’s hard to ignore the facts or explain them away in any sensible manner.
I wonder if the people who make excuses have just not read about it and/or looked at the pictures and videos, or do they have guilty consciences for some reason.
Sadly, you are correct. My children and their children will be taught about freedom, honor, country and those that fought for it.
Wall update post 84
Thankfully, we have the pictures and videos.
Thanks for the additional pings.
[Mr] T
thank you

Subject: Retraction of All Statements on Incident
Retraction of All Statements on Incident
To All:
Since it is now clear that SGT Steven Booker is not an Official spokesman for the National Park Service (NPS), it is necessary to retract any and all statements citing him as a source on any cleaning accident at the Vietnam Wall earlier this week. His phone numbers have been given to all Patriots and Eagles who asked for such information for their independent verification of what happened. This retraction also includes any earlier statements from the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), and other sources, on what actually happened at the Vietnam Wall. Instead, I will rely on the results of ongoing investigations of the National Park Police (NPP), plus the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, and independent investigations by autonomous news media sources such as the Washington Times and FOX News. Their reports will be conclusive for me on what actually happened.
I will also rely on the statement of Lisa Gough, Director of Communications for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, who stated in her press release of Sept. 11, 2007: The United States Park Police has begun an investigation into the matter, and that investigation is ongoing. Until this investigation is completed, it is premature to speculate whether any intentional act was committed. An additional source of reliance will be the Washington Times, with any follow up stories from their news article of Sep 11 on Vandals feared at memorial, as cited in previous E-mail messages.
Like many of you, I have my suspicions on what actually happened at the Vietnam Wall, but I prefer not to comment further on any statements from any party of interest on this issue. There was also a similar incident reported to have happened to a Vietnam Wall in Andover, MA, published on Sep 5, 2007, which has been reported in a previous message with the full source included. This was confusing to me, and was shared in an attempt to learn what actually happened, when, and where.
This statement is also sent to Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) members who are not on the national level as blind copies, in order to protect their privacy after several asked not to be included openly in this issue. Thank you for your consideration of my comments and observations.
Yours in Patriotism,
Steve Cobb
Commander
Region I, MOPH
I believe the person doing this had No Blood for Oil as to why they used an oily substance.
Maybe making too much of this might encourage other War Protesting Nuts and other fruitcakes the idea that descrating these monuments will further the Anti-war cause.
We need to keep watch and be vigilant.
Too much attention will encourage COPY CAT descrations of other memorials besides the Vietnam Memorial.
It would interesting if the FBI chose to analyze the substance. It might be possible to get DNA from it -- since it was done over a long section of the wall. Things like hairs from clothing might have stuck to the oil substance.
I believe too much MEDIA attention is bad because of all the nuts we have in this country. And it might give some Islamic students ideas about things they might do to our National Monuments.
If I am wrong, let me know. I will escalate this issue with the media...
But I don't want to give REWARD these nuts for this activity with the publicity...
Topher, those are all very good reasons why there should be little media coverage.
The perps did this seeking attention, that’s obvious, in addition to their insane hate of our country. Cutting off the oxygen would be a good thing.
Whiel I agree that spiking the story woudl deny them desired attention, concealing the event would also mean that the sheep would not be made aware of the depths to which the Leftists are willing to dip.
Even if they gave a damn anymore.
